On New hospital planned in Janesville

I have done most of my clinical rotations at Mercy Hospital..I have NOT had one complaint about my level of care there. The nurses at Mercy take time to address patients concerns and go the extra mile for their patients.
I plan on working at Mercy Hospital when I graduate in a few weeks, and I KNOW I will continue to provide safe, quality, and compassionate care there.

I have an eight year old daughter who has severe respiratory and cardiac problems. She has a disease known as pulmonary hypertension. Even being in an area that has been smoked in three weeks previousely affects her and can cause her oxygen saturations to drop, coughing, and pneumonia. We have to be VERY careful when we eat out or attend birthday parties, etc. What's difficult is when the weather is nice, we have to drive with our car windows up because if people are smoking in THEIR cars, the smoke can go into OUR car. So we never get to enjoy the nice weather while driving. Just something to think about when your lighting up and blowing your smoke out of your car window....

On Janesville police unsurprised by recent gang graffiti

I grew up on the Southside of Chicago. My family and my life was almost totally ruined by gangs. I was almost killed, and went to more funerals before I was eighteen then I can count. The stigmata still follows me today even though I do not have anything to do with gangs and have improved my life for myself and my family. I moved to Wisconsin when I was pregnant with my son to get away from the gangs. It is so sad to see that it is starting up here too. Don't be fooled by everyone saying "Wanna be's." They can be just as dangerous, if not more so, because they feel they have to prove themself. Today it's taggin', tomorrow it's gang wars. It's already in Beloit. Janesville is just right up the road.
On Beloit woman arrested for prostitution

I think the police department should be more worried about the gangs in Janesville than if a dancer takes a dollar with her breasts or does a lap dance. Seriously, if that was prostitution, every dancer in America would be arrested for prostitution.

On Candidate convicted of three misdemeanors

Just because she had three misdeamenors when she was in her 20's doesn't mean that she won't make a good council woman. She might have more insight on a variety of issues than those who have had a "sheltered" life. We do not know her circumstances or what happenned to result in those convictions. She has taken steps to improve herself which is more than what others have done. Besides, Misdeamenor convictions does not bar her from running. Good luck Kelly!

Haeight-
The trigger that seems to affect my daughter the MOST is cigarette smoke..(Pulmonary hypertension is such a NASTY disease)..
But thank you for your input.. HOWEVER, I think the medical research has shown how devastating tobacco smoke is on ANY one, including but NOT limited to ALL kinds of cancers and pulmonary diseases..
Just a thought I wanted to share when someone lights up their cigarette and they can enjoy the weather with their car window down, yet my daughter can't have her car window down.. or else she can't breathe.. Nice weather, or breathe better?? Not much of a choice, now is there?
HAVE A NICE DAY!
