On Milton man guilty on poison charge in Alaska

Posted on January 23 at 9:38 a.m. ( Suggest removal )

Regardless, he poisoned the mother and she did not consent to being poisoned. This caused her to miscarry, as that medication is known to do.
Also, he is stealing and committing arson...
the issue here is that he chose to poison his wife and his wife chose to turn him in. Good for her.
Now, Wisconsin needs a criminal statute protecting us from others who are intentionally transmitting herpes without a partner's informed knowledge and consent. I wanted to comment on that story when the Gazette had it but was not allowed to.

On Teen club to open Friday in Janesville

Mr. Evans is an inspiration to the community. He is making his dream a reality. At the same time, he is providing teens & young adults a safer alternative to gangs and deviant behaviors. Kids who have ''nothing'' to do may be lured into gangs by the exciting possibilities from the street, ie: cars, money, etc. Once these individuals fall victim, many times it is difficult for them to find their way out.
My only concern is the cost...some individuals may not be able to afford $10.. Maybe they can offer memberships at a discount rate for low income families.

On Pain sufferers say fired doctor, opiods helped them

I applaud Dr. Hobson's support of a colleague he admires and for Dr. Mannino, a physician who followed his Hippocratic Oath.
“ I will prescribe regimens for the good of my patients according to my ability and my judgment and never do harm to anyone.
I will not give a lethal drug to anyone if I am asked, nor will I advise such a plan."

Pain is subjective. None of us can judge or rate an individual's true pain, except for that individual who is suffering from it. Recovery and quality of life are affected by a person's perception of their pain.

As a RN, I advocate for my patients and believe that less pain can improve an individual's quality of life. Not everyone will be 100% pain free. The goal is to use therapeutic measures to lessen their pain to a level that is comfortable for them to perform activities of daily living. This is done while maintaining a therapeutic level of any prescribed medication and ensuring the patient does not have life threatening adverse effects. This can include massage, physical therapy, heat, ice, acupuncture, over the counter and prescribed medications.

Every person is a unique individual who responds to different treatments in different ways. Some people may benefit from non steroidal anti inflammatory drugs such as Toradol and over the counter products like ibuprofen and Aleve. Others need prescribed opiates and muscle relaxers to lessen their pain.

Tolerance does build up over time and a medication that was originally prescribed may become ineffective or need an increased dose. This does not make an individual an "addict."

Abrupt withdrawal from medications such as Valium that have been prescribed over a long period of time can cause a reaction known as benzodiazepine withdrawal. This can be potentially life threatening.

I would like to end this with a quote:
"When I hear a baby's cry of pain change into a normal cry of hunger, to my ears, that is the most beautiful music." -Dr. Albert Schweitzer

The individuals that helped are true heroes...from the boaters to the first responders to the hospital staff...Thank you to the adults for ensuring the children wore life vests. A tragedy was averted because safety precautions were followed. Let this be a reminder to others to practice boat safety, wear helmets while bike riding & always use our seat belts!

LOL That is my old apartment! It was unfit to live in when I lived there, about ten years ago! I stayed in the back apartment. It had one door. The toilet overflowed whenever you flushed it. It would overflow with waste. The heat went out all the time because the furnace was broken. I reported it to the police and the landlord was issued citations for an unfit place to live.
