On Janesville water rates could jump 21 percent in plan

Levitt budget, Walker taxes, and Obama money. It is not their money – it is your money and my money. Levitt is not budgeting from his checkbook, Walker is not funding the state aid from his own pocket and Obama is not funding the federal aid out of his personal stash. Years of state and federal aid have hidden the actual costs at the local level. Now these “managers” much like many failed corporations need to manage and they can not.

On Obama lifts ban on US entry for those with HIV

This does not benefit American in any way. It's just another step towards the Socialist vision of Obama. Here is a statement from another article on Oct 8th.

"...President Barack Obama expressed that the final health care reform bill will include Medicaid coverage for HIV-Positive people.

At the moment, eligibility rules for Medicaid exclude most HIV-positive people from accessing it unless they become disabled."

Someone explain to me how some of these people trading in their clunker can afford a new car payment. I was in the dealership this weekend and someone with a clunker bought the car I was looking at. I calculated the numbers and their payment was going to be at least $500 a month(16k/3 yrs/5.9APR). I think we will see a lot of these car on the repo lot... And you need car insurance to finance...

I heard that Buffalo Wild Wings had a lot of GM retires appling for jobs - I can see why if the retires are only getting $3000 plus a month from their GM pension... They are going to need the extra money...

For those who don't remember, the JPD conducted a informational forum at the YWCA and shortly thereafter held a drivers license sign up along with DMV officals for immigrants without proper ID and already revoked drivers. I would have much rather seen a meeting to prevent revoked drivers from driving than to promote it. Read the article. I bet Mr. Miguel-Lopez has done this before. Here is a quote from the link - "Always keep a photo ID with you, even if it is an expired license. Janesville police will only arrest you for driving without a license if they can't identify you,Sullivan said."

You can thank the JPD for helping these "immigrants" get a drivers license. Remember the meetings at the YWCA...

On Janesville official expects growth in Milton School District

Posted on April 2 at 5:43 p.m. ( Suggest removal )

If I recall, the school district boundaries are coming up for state review around 2012 or so. Also, around that time the Hwy 26 expansion is going to limit Milton school bus access for Janesville's east side routes, therefore at that time the cost would not be feasible to continue school bus routes to Janesville; this was already forthcoming due to the high cost of fuel. The state school board is conducting ongoing discussions to redraw the boundaries, placing all of the east side residents of Janesville in the Janesville School District. The Janesville School District will benefit greatly from the increase in tax revenue and Milton will not expand or build a new high school.

On Do you think the city of Janesville should allocate more money for snowplowing?

Posted on December 26 at 11:03 a.m. ( Suggest removal )

ohmygosh1000...I did your research for you - the city tax on a hotel room in Janesville is 8%(total tax is 13.5%); and currently 37% of the money collected from that city tax goes towards the Janesville Convention and Visitors Bureau and the remaining 63% goes towards the city’s general fund. The general fund is where police, fire protection, parks, snowplowing and street maintenance are funded. I don’t know what the actual dollar amount is collected from the tax, but it is a city tax.

ohmygosh1000...you need to call a hotel within the city limits and ask them what percent the "local" sales tax is...
