This really looks like it would be a fun time. Remember folks, this event is not just for Seniors.
I would have liked to be a participant in this "talent show", but unfortunately will be out of town attending a wedding.
Y'all have fun!! Hopefully we'll be there next year.
PS
NOTE TO THE EDITOR:
Looking forward to the follow up story.

Sunday Night? I think that plays a major factor in fan turnout.
I am not going this year because it's on a Sunday night. If I lived within an hours drive from Green Bay, it could be different, but someone else can have the privelidge of visiting the "Holy Land".
Driving from Rock County, it maybe worth taking the following Monday off, or going to working on a few hours sleep for a regular season game, or maybe even a "good" preseason game...but for a practice??? The fire works afterwards aren't that great.

WOW!
Sounds like some of the posters (Don Diego, curtiancall) have gone to the Rev. Wright church of radical racism.
Was it ever suggested that English was a more suprior language? Or that "white Americans" thinks of themselves to be a "superior race"?
Building up a straw man, and then tearing it down is a technique often used to manipulate the truth, and pursuade the ignorant.
That fact is most Americans love their heritage, and do not want to see it trampled on. And as of a matter of fact...Yes America (even with all of it's faults) is still the greatest country on the face of the earth!
Be thankful that some students ("superior white" students??) would take enough interest to learn a second laguage.

It is interesting that before reading this little article, I got a totally different take on the story from the local Janesville radio station.
Seems they left out that it was the students of a Spanish Class saying the pledge. Once again, ya can only believe half of what you hear coming from the media...

Would I be offended if Druid Priest came to the school and said a prayer? Or a Shawman?...
Interesting comments, because I would ask..."Who invited them?" certianly that situation mentioned goes beyond the scope of personal religious freedom.
It wouldn't be any more offense than asking a Baptist preacher to say a prayer before a pep rally.

It is interesting the comments people make about religion in schools.
Seems that when I was in school, we could learn about all the religions of the world. Yet when it came to Christianity, there was to be not discussion.
We learned there could not possibly be a God in science class. We learned in history all of the mythology of the acient Greeks and Romans. Yet we could not discuss the God of Abraham, or Jewish history. "Chistian" history was regulated to the inquisition in Spain. Subtle message there, eh?
We learned that we should keep our religion to ourselves, and embrass the values of those who chose to rebel against the values we held dear. "Tolerance" is the hyprocritcal word used quite often. Just as long as you agree with the offical party line...you are okay.
So to say religion should be KEPT out of "schools" is an oxymoron. Really it is who's relgion is going to get more playing time. There is so much made of the "seperation of church & state", that frankly I am quite bored with those who try to use it as their base argument, and find it rather hypocritical as it only seems to apply to Christians.
The state relgion (the body of persons adhering to a particular set of beliefs and practices, which "they" believe in and follow devotedly) of humanism & atheism is taught every day in school.
What I get from the article, was the kid was not get graded on his artistic ability (which is subjective anyway), but only on subject matter. What if he was a foreign exchange student from India or Japan. Would drawing a landscape picture with other relgious symbols offended anyone?
Just wondering....
On Bible incident draws concerns

Interesting article...even more interesting postings
It is quite obvious that the student wasn't just giving reasons why he doesn't believe in God, but intended to intimidate for maximum effect of “shock & awe”. Certainly this lad is not the first person ever to try and provoke God into a challenge, by declaring his non existence with an act of disrespect. History tells us that burning Bibles (God's Word), persecuting/ killing people in the name of a "State Religion", or daring God to strike them dead with a bolt of lightening, or even ripping pages form the Bible, really proves anything other than God's mercy for rebellious men. Sort of like the punk teenager challenging any authority...may get away with it for a short time, and may even be fun as he brags to his friends about the deeds done, but in the end, justice rewards. Confirming there is something larger than oneself.
A few years ago I read an article how Castro would influence young children in school. Teacher's would have the children put their heads down on their desk, and ask them to pray to God for candy...when the children lifted their heads and opened their eyes, there was nothing! Next the teachers would repeat the sequence, but this time asked them to pray to Castro...this time when they opened their eyes, they had candy! And yes there are people in the name of religion (Christianity) who manipulate situations, and perform wondrous signs, seeking the praise of men also. Point is…lies and deception can take various forms, and can be very persuading when the truth is not known.
Being a Christian, I would be more concerned about the threats portrayed by this student than the actual tearing pages from a Bible. I dropped my Bible and ripped a view pages, and even dropped it in a mud puddle once or twice as I carried under my arm. New Bible’s can be purchased, and are reprinted, but what offends me more than an atheist shaking his puny little fist declaring "there is no God", is the luke warm "Christian" who lets the Bible collect dust on the shelf. Anyone read it for themselves lately? or do you just take what other's say about God's word as gospel?
“Religion” has been a pretty hot topic since the beginning of time, and the most important question anyone will face in their life time is, “…what will you do with Jesus?”
Real & rational thinking is logically reduced to….we are all going to die some day. Then where will you be, based on who’s faith?

Interesting that the state of Wisconsin gets the money. What about the families, or the kids that had or now have health issues because of the lead paint?
Guess it's better that it goes to our parental state, because the beaucrats are so much wiser, and have our "best" interest in mind...or are we being used.
But then agian there maybe more to the story...?
