On A very positive local purchase

Steve, did the repair shop charge you for the house call? I used an appliance dealer in Milton awhile ago for a repair. In addition to a parts charge and a labor charge, they charged me approximately $40 to make the less than 5 minute drive from their shop to my house. Time before that they forgot to special order a duct adaptor that I requested for a dryer when I bought 6 appliances from them. No apologies or special treatment resulting from their error. Never again...

I agree; good for the community. It's called a deterrent. Maybe the folks that feel the need to take their dogs to sporting events at the local public parks and fields will now do a better job keeping their pets under control. It's not much fun hearing a dog bark constantly while trying to watch a game; let alone worrying about one getting away and nipping at or biting someone. It happened this summer at a youth girl's fastpitch game with a lady who always brought her two little ankle biters. Bad that a few ruin it for many.

I agree with 6789; charge the commercial users. That's the tree service companies and grass cutters who are dumping off boat loads of debris. Who pays for the end loader and the labor to handle their stuff? Joe Taxpayer is covering it. Make the commercial users pay their fair share for their debris.

Good job, Jerry! Way to send business down the road; so to speak. I thought things were looking up in Milton, but it appears it's one step forward and two steps back. Shame on you.

Perrotto was concerned about negative attention towards himself and his wife...maybe he should of thought about that before he made the request. He's worried about Rashkin humilating him...I think he's going a pretty good job all by himself.

cardtrader, good question and I am pretty sure it was raised to all the applicants during the interview process. "Why do you want this job?" is a fairly standard question in the interviews I have been involved with on both sides of the table. Here's a thought: ask him at the next open city council meeting he attends. Family nearby? Cost of living? Living in a smaller community? Less crime? Makes sense to me.

cashiers, here's a few tips:
If you have to sneeze, apply some hand sanitizer or have some tissues handy. Change on the bottom, bills on top. Please don't gossip with your bagger; it's tacky and slows down the show. Say "thank you" to me for doing business at your employer; "there ya go" is not an expression of appreciation. I can shop elsewhere, and I will.

duke-I disagree. They print odds on every ticket. I consider myself "average" and know very well the unlikeliness of winning. My thought: small risk, big prize. If people can't afford to play and loose a buck or two, they shouldn't. Live and let live.

Any age is cool as long as some basic manners are observed...say thank you for the free candy I am giving you and don't trample my flowers and bushes (again).
