On Republicans release redistricting maps

Posted on July 10 at 11:18 a.m. ( Suggest removal )

This redistricting, along with voter id changes seems to be an attempt to limit the ability of voters to, vote. I'm certain after these elections are done, there will be some legal challenges from both sides, wasting more taxpayer money. It is blatantly obvious that with extraordinary sessions, and an accelerated pace of legislative activity, the republicans are manipulating the system meant to protect the process.

On We’ll soon feel impact of of governor's budget pen

What many rightist fail to realize is this, if services are reduced, even if our tax rate stays the same, that is an increase in taxes. Couple that with increased fees, middle class people ARE paying more in. At the same time 2.3 billion dollars in tax breaks/incentives are going to the ultra wealthy. We get less, we pay more, the rich get more, they pay less. That's it.

On Janesville teacher contract might reopen

Its nice that Knilans and Walker trust the teachers to renegotiate their contract. Their last act of collective bargaining will be bargaining to take a pay cut. What a great guy that Knilans is. Those greedy unions, negotiating a pay cut.

On Youngsters boost Janesville save-the-schools effort

Hey Rich, maybe downtown should pitch in because they created the mess by NOT BALANCING THE BUDGET, or we could substitute, not doing their job. If we measured the teacher's ability to do their job, we might look at test scores and grad rates, which have improved, which indicates the teachers ARE doing their job. Maybe, if instead of you crying about a 6 dollar raise in your taxes for the last four years (in the same time period your taxes HAVE NOT gone up), we wouldn't be in this mess. Then maybe we would have good financially sound school district. Instead, we having a bad local economy, and a poorly managed school district! Furthermore, when morons who can't understand those facts blame the teachers, who play absolutely no role in budgeting for the district, maybe we can drive all the good teachers out of town. Then guess what we'll be left with?
