On Family Size: When to Say When?

Posted on November 21 at 12:24 p.m. ( Suggest removal )

as a totally single, with no kids, 31 year old, I figure I'm doing quite nicely at my nice round 0. When I consider changing crappy (literally) diapers for the conceivable 3-5 years of having multiple children would require I suddenly think that maybe 'using' my friends children is close enough. =D

I think it is worth noting that this 'bill' was not an individual bill. This was passed INSIDE the State Budget.

Also, some people are seeing an increase in premium, but oftentimes you are getting more COVERAGE than you had. Do not hesitate to contact your agent if you have questions.

On Dangerous intersections

Posted on October 17 at 2:51 p.m. ( Suggest removal )

I use 2 of these intersections VERY frequently. Holiday/Milton ave is incredibly dangeous primarily because of the volume and the un-clear Right of Way rule. The frontage Rd on the Culver's side creates a confusion about who's turn it really is. As a rule, I simply avoid this intersection ENTIRELY when at all possible. I'd rather sit at Holiday and Kennedy for 5 minutes waiting to get in than take my chances on Holiday/Milton ave.

Centereway/Court is a RIDICULOUS intersection. I sent in a complaint card on that green arrow once and was promptly ignored when I expressed my concern in person to the guy who called me about it. There are at least two combinations of red/green lights that the arrow could safely be green and allow you to go, but at those times it is red. When the traffic is coming down Milwaukee straight to court and has a green light, you get a green arrow. Why? Because 'there is a lane there for you' Yeah, a lane of about 9 yards! Because some engineer decided *that* was the rule the city refuses to consider changing the point at which it is green.

Lastly, ROUNDABOUTS ARE RIDICULOUS! If we all knew the rules of the road and if we could all follow them even just 90% of the time, the accidents would go down by half. But, no, our entire society (myself included!) Is incredibly selfish and self-centered. *I* have somewhere to be, *I* get to go even if there is someone nearby who may have the true right of way, *I* am going to go for it anyway and hope for the best!

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE, DO NOT PUT A ROUNDABOUT ANYWHERE IN THE CITY OF JANESVILLE!!!

On Will new biking law help?

I couldn't agree more!! The very first thing I thought when this first came up awhile back was 'Do we REALLY need to legislate this??? Do our legislators have nothing better to do than draft up legislation like this?? Cause I have a few ideas they should consider working on!'

On Opinion editor unveils new blog

Just wanted to throw my 2 cents at you since I noticed a Letter to the Editor in my mom's print edition yesterday.

You had better not take out Bill O'Reilly's column based on the idea that his comments are 'inflammatory.' Which was essentially the poin of the person's letter. There are plenty of inflammatory things being said from all sides about any number of groups and I fall into at least a couple of them. So, keep up the good work, the editorial section, as sporadically as I read it, never seems too far skewed to one side or the other.

Beth, I apologize for those that don't see the humor and "tongue-in-cheek" writing that you so eloquently used. I found it humorous. And I thank you for the truce and white kleenex waving. =D

On Sex offender moves to Janesville

ladulce, the article says explicitly at the end 'first degree sexual assault of a child.' regardless of the actual statue, that is more than enough (in my opinion) for you to know to keep your children far far away from him. If he'd had consensual sex with a teenager as a young man, I'm fairly sure it's a difference statute, I don't think it would say 'child' in the offense.

I have to say, I am utterly surprised at the amount of argument here. Do any of you sincerely believe that you are going to convert anyone to your point of view through a newspaper messageboard?!? Seriously? People seldom change their opinions when faced with absolute truth standing right in front of them. Do you really think that repeating 'institutionalized child rape' over and over will make someone decide they agree with you? Only those unable to form their own thoughts first are going to end up agreeing with you, and what kind of victory is that? Empty, that's what kind.

Let's be honest, the 'victim' himself could walk up to gazfan and withdraw all of his accusations, take and pass a polygraph and stand on his head and gazfan would still not believe him!

I also attended SJV for K-8 grade. Not only do I think Fr Vosen is a good man and that it is incredibly sad that he has been uncermoniously removed from his vocation based on this clearly unproven accusation. I also remember reading the original stories when it was reported and thinking 'the building isn't laid out like that. That type of discipline was NEVER offered/done.' The man's story simply didn't line up with the absolute facts of how the buildings are built, much less the realities of how the school was run.

I am also amused by gazfan's use of lawerly knowledge to the extent that it serves him. Yes criminal court is much different than civil court; however, a verdict in favor of the 'victim' does not prove guilt on the part of Fr Vosen. You have the most amazing and amusing convoluted logic.

Don't worry about responding to me. I have a thoroughly full life that does not include trolling gazextra's stories for places to argue with strangers and get undue attention.
