On Teen club to open Friday in Janesville

Posted on April 4 at 1:08 p.m. ( Suggest removal )

I think this is a great idea and would be more than willing to come and help in any way that is needed! As a single mom of two middle school aged girls, I know how "bored" the kids are in this town. I won't allow my kids to go wandering around. I grew up in this town and went to a lot of the old teen clubs. I will definately take my kids here and am willing to stay and help supervise as a volunteer.

On YWCA Walk a Mile event raises money to prevent domestic abuse

ladulce-I was very happy to hear you chime in on this one. As you know, we live up north now, but I try to keep up with what's going on in Janesville through the Gazette and the blogs. I have been looking forward to this article. I was encouraged to read that people are bringing their children to walk in this. The best way to stop DV is knowledge and awareness. Our kids have to know that it is NEVER ok to hit or to be hit. That they have the RIGHT to always feel safe. Even as adults. That no matter what choices they may make in life, good or bad, they don't deserve to be abused. THAT'S what this walk is about. For all of your fighting truth1, you ARE aware now. And that's the point!

Finally! Someone who gets the point! Thank-you janesvillegirl72. I was wondering how long it was going to take with all of the nonsense that people spout on here, before someone would actually READ the article and COMPREHEND what the whole point of this is: Raising money and collecting food and personal care items for people in need in our community.

displacedworker: thanks for the link! It was a great video clip and the pictures were good too. He is definately going to be the talk of the town this hunting season, and rightfully so. Personally, I don't hunt or eat venison, but I don't hold it against those who do. For some it's a sport and for others it's how they support their families. I don't understand how people can bash others for putting food on the table. Deer hunting is legal folks. Get over it! It is necessary to keep the deer population under control. Cardtrader:We don't hunt cows because they're not free roaming wild animals. Their population is controlled by their owners. Use some common sense once in awhile.

gazettefan: Love the example! I always find it so humorous how people seem to have nothing better to do than to sit at their computer and spell check someone else's writing. I understand that there are a lot of us that are unemployed around here right now, but have a heart. Instead of critisizing, how about just having a good chuckle and calling it a day? You can probably find errors in my writing also, but who cares? It's a blog folks!

On Juvenile justice officials allege unethical, illegal behavior

So, where are the sanctions for all of these supervisors that are forcing their employees to lie and withhold information and not do their jobs porperly? Imo they should be arrested and have to pay fines at the very least. I deal with juveniles, and one of the main problems that I see is that they feel invinsible. They feel that they can say and do whatever they want without any consequences. There are way too many parents out there that either don't care what their kids are doing, are doing it with their kids, or have let their kids get the upper hand and don't know how to get the control back in their own houses. And now, in Rock County atleast, we have a corrupt juvenile system that is telling the kids "Hey, you cost us too much money so go ahead and do what ever you want. We give up." Nice job Rock County Human Services!

Ok... I'm torn on this one. Not like this guy thankfully though. LOL The problem here is you can see both sides. Was this guy a sleaze and deserve to be busted, humiliated, and dumped like yesterday's trash by his wife and girlfriend? ABSOLUTELY! Was it their right get retribution in the form of a physical assault? ABSOLUTELY NOT! And for that, they deserve to get the same punishment that any man would receive for a similar attack on a woman.
