On Mayo loses appeal for fourth time

No, Wisconsin does not have the death penalty. How many people should have gotten the death penalty for crimes they were committed of, and later found innocent for??? I think a lot of you would change your tune if it were your family member we were talking about here, and you believed they were innocent. Was this woman convicted solely on the testimony of the other assailant and not by any direct evidence?

Only two people know for sure if she was involved in that crime, but if she wasn't then she has spent the past 24 years paying for a crime she did not commit. 24 years away from her family for a crime she did not commit.
Justmy414 hit it right on the head - a lot of people have spent years locked away for crimes they were later proven NOT to have commited.

Congratulations on both your graduations. You are an inspiration to a lot of young women out there, and I hope you will continue to tell your story. I know first hand how difficult it is having a child in high school. I am a stranger to you, but I am proud of you. You will do great things in your life with your determination. Your son is lucky to have such a great mom. God bless you.
On Parking tops concerns for Janesville dog owners

We have children as well as a dog, and we love making it a family outing to the Palmer exercise area. We keep our dog on a leash when we're near any roads, but she is off leash when in the deeper trails. I agree that most dogs are off leash here as a way to explore and get exercise. I am not able to run my dog and this is a great way for her to get more exercise as well as the rest of my family being able to enjoy nature and taking care of our dog. Our dog enjoys meeting new "friends" there. They are free to explore the land and each other. I've never met a dog on the trails that didn't follow an owners command when off leash. If your dog doesn't listen to you they should be leashed for their own safety and the safety of others, but that is just common sense. If they put up more fences that's great, if not we'll continue the way we always have. As long as we have the exercise area at Palmer, I will not complain. If that is taken away from us, I'm not sure what we'll do. Driving all the way across town to the south side is not always an option for us, so our dog would pay the price.

May God continue to bless the works that you do.
On At what point is mowing your lawn a must-do job?
Posted on May 11 at 9:11 a.m. ( Suggest removal )
I would have to say 3 inches - but once a week is generally what we do. If we mowed every time our grass was higher than our neighbors we'd be mowing all week! Our neighbor mows 2-4 times per week and twice each time to make patterns in his lawn. To each their own, just don't complain that we don't obsess about our lawn.
On Man arrested again on stalking charge

I know one of the victims personally - and she is a single mother of three. The guy called her cell phone randomly and tormented, harassed, threatened, and scared the heck out of this woman. After he was in jail she was breathing easier and then she received several more calls from the jail! She never accepted the calls (obviously) but she was very upset that this man could continue to harass her even from jail. It was unimaginable that he was allowed to continue the very behavior that landed him in jail to begin with. The victim did call the jail and speak with the SGT that was on duty that night, so they were aware of what he was doing. Obviously this information was not passed on to others working different shifts. What I don't understand is why he was continued to be allowed to use the phone when that was the entire reason he was there to begin with??? These victims should not have to continue receiving harassing phone calls just because this man cannot stop himself from getting some sort of sick satisfaction from scaring random women.

Very few people have a choice of where they can go - unless they want to pay out of pocket for expenses incurred. If you are already paying out of pocket for your insurance premiums, which are generally more than most can afford, you can't exactly choose to go somewhere "non covered" to pay the entire bill. I believe this will only benefit those that have access to covered services with Dean. Anyone who has insurance that only covers them at Mercy, will still have no other option. This is great for those with Dean, but not exactly wonderful news for all of Janesville.

I hope the student has a victorius outcome in court. It does not sound as though he was forcing his belief on anyone else. Why would this be considered wrong or offensive? This is one of the reasons why I homeschool my children - it's very sad.
