We have a son with autism, so I can totally relate to this article. Although we are lucky in the sense that our son eats more that one thing, he is finicky none the less. Truth is he only eats about 10 different things. We too have to buy certain brands, and eat at certain places. Some people would say that we are doing nothing more that indulging our son. However people really shouldn't judge until you have walked in our shoes. Autism is very difficult to understand, but we like many others take it one day at a time.

Oh my God! What is wrong with people? Think about it, if he's willing to do this in public, what is life like for these kids at home. I only pray that social services gets involved.

I don't mind paying a little something to get in, but at $5.oo a person it will be kind of expensive for us. I wish they would charge less for children at least.

I have to agree with alot of things said here. She should have know what she was getting herself into here. MOST girls, when going out for a predominantly male sport, don't want special treatment. They expect to be treated the same as everyone else. I personally think this whole thing is ridiculous. This is nothing more than an "oh is me" situation with a ploy to make money. That's it, bottom line. They're just looking for a check.

twistedstorm; are you absolutely out of your mind? Ten years? Please!!! It has only been proven time and time again that these kinds of offenders can not be rehabilitated! Do you really think he'll learn a lesson in 10 years? If his crimes really are as insignificant as you think they are, they would be sending him to kindergarten jail and not federal prison. The guy is a waste and a detriment to society. I hope he rots!

This just breaks my heart. I have a daughter almost the same age. I can't imagine how this family must feel. We must remind ourselves that life is so precious. And we really shouldn't judge or question what happened. Accidents are just that.....accidents. God bless this baby girl and her grieving family.

Dear Dumbfounded,
What are you the nutrition nazi? Like I said, don't judge. Your not living this life, and we didn't choose this for our children. We have tried to adjust our son's diet. Ever see a child go without food for 2-3 days at a time, and all for the sake of a healthy diet? You do what you have to do for your child to thrive, and be emotionally healthy. Most autistic children don't understand your idea of a healthy diet. They eat what they can, when they can. Most autistic children have some sort of GI distress, so parent just have to do the best that they can.
