I don't understand how, with the information given, anyone could come to the conclusion that this was someone who lost their job or home? Unless you know something the rest of us don't? This could have been a drunk drive or even murder for all we know.

I think it would make sense for Craig(atleast in my little brain) to still have open campus, BUT you are not allowed to drive anywhere. There are plenty of places that Craig students could go without driving.
Or maybe they could implement a bonus program where you can only have open campus lunch if you meet certain criteria. Like a certain GPA, no behavioral issues, and some type of attendance criteria. Give the kids extra incentive to do good in school, and then reward them for it. I don't think it is fair to only close campus for freshman. Just my 2 cents, for whatever it is worth :)

My oldest goes to Milton High School and she was at the school yesterday afternoon when the evacuated the building. I am glad the MPD and the school are not just sitting by waiting for something to happen. In this day and age, you just never know what threat is serious and what isn't so it is always better to be a little bit to cautious.
But that being said, I don't think the school really needed to call me at 6 am this morning to tell me my child would be searched upon entering the school. Not only was I half asleep when they called, but I think warning people about a search kind of defeats the purpose of it.
On The great video game debate

I just bought the "The Maze of Bones" for my son. He is 8 and I think anything that encourages kids to read more is a good thing. The best part about this game/book is the kids have to read the book to be good at the game. The online game is not a replacement for reading the book. Another great part about this series of books is they are all full of stuff from history.
The bad part is they are making these books into movies, I just won't mention that to my son till after he has finished the books!

I worked at the Milton House way back when and I could be wrong, but the underground tunnel didn't go to the Tallman House. It just went from the Milton House to the house out back. But, it is a great place to visit with a lot of history.

I would rather have police hiding in camo around the park then run the risk of me and my children walking up on 2 people having sex at the park. I don't care if it is 2 men, 2 women or a man and a woman, it is not the kind of nature I go to the park to see.
