On Janesville School Board looks at year-round school

Posted on November 10 at 8:08 p.m. ( Suggest removal )

We live in another state, and they have had year round school for a long time in our community and they are going to do away with it. They initially started it because there were too many kids for the amount of space they had. They have found that the cost is just too high to keep it going. They will actually save money by going back to the conventional school year.

On Pepsi moving jobs to Janesville

While everyone has valid points, I think that we are overlooking one thing. They could have taken the jobs away completely and moved the facility out of the area or closed it down entirely. I for one am greatful that they are only moving to Janesville. A bigger location could mean room for expansion and that could mean more jobs.

On Overdose death prompts effort to ensure prescription drug safety

What a great idea. I think that it's wonderful that someone is speaking out and willing to put their time and energy into this. If someone has another idea, hey, bring that to the table too. With a topic like this more definitely is better. Drug abuse is like a cancer in the respect that somehow, someway everyone's life is touched by it in a negative way. What a wonderful way to try and beat this, than to put all of our heads together and support each other with ways to get rid of or make it harder for our kids to get a hold of these drugs. I have a 10 year old and needless to say I am terrified, but very aware, of the dangers that this poses. We all have a responsibility as parents, not just to our kids, but others as well to keep our eyes and ears open.

On Owner plans to raze Case Feed building

I agree with ceebear. While I think that it would have been great to restore the building to its former self, the buyer should have known that you can't just let a building sit there and deteriorate and not have the public comment on it. Also there are a few more buildings around that intersection that need to be addressed as well. I get that people may not have the money to paint, or side or remodel their properties but, there is no cost to putting trash and such to the curb.

It does matter. I am sure that Bobzein could have/ should have handled things in a different manner. Bottom line is his girlfriend/mother of his daughter and his infant daughter were at the scene when Benage assaulted her. He did what he thought was protecting his family. Also for the record it was Benage who broke into the home of Bobzein and Benage had retaliated against Bobzein's girlfriend for pressing charges.

Wow! What a story. It would even be better if the facts were straight. I know the girl who was assaulted personally and the story that reads in the gazette is not what happened at all. I think that the gazette should do further investigating before printing a story that is false in nature. Please get the facts straight so that you won't hurt innocent people in the process. If they get their facts from the police department then they have their facts wrong as well. It will all come out in court if it gets that far.

What an awesome story. It's nice to see people giving back because they can. When we come back to town we like to go to Circus Drive-in with our daughter. We want her to be able to have fond memories of it like we do.

Marnie is such a warm and caring person. If the shoe were on the other foot of someone else, she would be right there to lend a hand. I will be out of town on this day but do plan to donate to this great lady. You go Marnie!!!:)

My husband has had Dave fix and fit clubs for him and he does an awesome job. We have since moved to Missouri and even then my husband has had Dave fix a club or two when we come for visits. Dave is a great guy. I admire that he took something he loved and made it into a second career. Way to go Dave!!
