On Walker asks for ideas from businesses, citizens

You can't please everyone. People get upset because people in government don't listen to the people. Walker is offering a forum in which business owners can voice their opinion and possibly make a difference and contribute directly to a solution. Who knows better than the small business owners with the struggles we face? I co-own a small business and am thrilled that a politician would like to actually HEAR what we go through, trying to make payroll and keep our doors open. He isn't doing what we do every day, so doesn't it make sense to go to the source? To get feedback and try to work with the businesses that are struggling? And to learn from the businesses that are finding success in this market? What more do you people want? It's unbelievable reading comments on these websites. People bicker for the sake of bickering. It's so much safer to make ignorant, nasty comments on a blog, when you can hide behind a username and no one really knows how you are. Can't please everyone I guess.
On Organ donor registry draws thousands

My brother died last year as a result of a motor vehicle accident. After almost 2 weeks in ICU with steadily worsening medical reports, we had to make the decision to take him off of life support. We were able to donate some of his organs, and that was truly the only positive out of the experience of his death - knowing that people were going to receive new organs that will change their lives. Knowing that the waiting lists for organs are so long, it was an amazing feeling knowing we were helping people, which comforted us during our time of loss. I signed up the first day the site was available!
On Motorcyclist injured in crash last week dies

Reconstruction of the accident, especially involving death seems to protocol. My brother was hit by a car last year, and he was blind. He held on for 12 days on life support before we had to take him off, and he was also an organ donor. Mercy did a great job, they did everything they could. The fact that someone received my brother's organs was the only consolation in the whole event. And let me tell you - speculation was and still is irritating to myself and my family. People have not idea what really happened unless they read the police report and witness statements, and really know the facts. I hate when people comment on things like this and they have no idea. Post something when you have gone through what I have gone through, or what this family is going through. Are people really that petty that it is more important to them to know who was at fault, as opposed to understanding that a 23 yr old man DIED? I see some sad human nature coming out as I read these posts...
On Shopping around for auto insurance is good advice

Are you kidding? Did you do any research at all before writing this article? You are so quick to point the finger at the insurance companies. Do you realize that legislators made these changes to insurance law without any insurance representatives there for input? The reason rates will be impacted is because the law now allows for stacking of liability limits. Which means you could hit someone in a vehicle that is on your policy, and the victim is now allowed to collect the full liability limit for up to three separate vehicles on your policy. So of course that is going to mean a rate adjustment - someone could now sue YOU and your insurance company for three times what they could in the past. Ridiculous. And remember people, you get what you pay for. There are good insurance companies, and bad. Of course you could shop around on line and find lower rates. But READ your contract - there are actually insurance companies that can deny your claim if your vehicle is stolen and you leave the keys in the car. Most reputable insurance companies would pay that claim, regarldess of the stupidity of the owner. The owner still suffers a large financial loss, which should be compensated. But there are snaky companies that actually have that exclusion in the contract. So to the writer of this article - unless you are well versed in insurance, you shouldn't be writing articles on things you don't understand. This is the most ridiculous article I have read in a long time, and the worst part about it is there are readers out there that don't know better and are actually going to believe the load of crap that you just wrote. Disgraceful really. Would you like to explain all of the legislative changes that pertain to insurance for the readers? Would you like to explain that the government did not have anyone in the insurance industry involved in these laws? Would you like to explain to consumer that these laws the state of Wisconsin just put into effect are ambigious at best and will not be revised or looked at until a big lawsuit takes place? Read the actual laws, talk to someone in the insurance industry, and then write your aritcle. There is nothing more dangerous than an uneducated individual writing an article on a topic they don't truly understand.
On Health insurers face day of reckoning

Robyn - you are ridiculous. A 15 minute MRI is over $3,500. A doctors visit is almost $200. Why are you not pointing your finger at the health care providers? Insurance companies aren't perfect, but neither are the medical institutions. I know someone that had surgery, the hospital screwed up his care, resulting in an additional surgery. The insurance company paid both large claims. But should they have to? Why does the insurance company or the consumer have to pay for the hospitals negligence? Not to mention hospitals and clinics that charge reduced rates for uninsured patients. If they can charge less for uninsured patients, why are health insurance companies expected to pay the higher charges? Believe it or not, health insurance companies do not employ a team of people to review medical records to cancel policies, and Robyn, I would be careful because it sure sounds like slander and libel to me. I think you should look at the whole picture before you point your finger. Medical providers need work too, not just the health insurance companies, and government run health care is NOT the answer.

I'm not sure why there is so much negativity about this. Like it or not, hospitals and any clinic for healthcare is a business as well as a provider of healthcare. Why do people feel so entitled to receive healthcare but not pay for it? The ER and trauma center has to treat people, regardless of their ability to pay. I know when my brother was there he was on medicaid and he received the highest level of care from the trauma team; I was impressed. There were no discussions about payment, and his treatment was not affected by his financial status. We were treated with respect the whole time and the facility was nice, clean, and the doctors and Intensive Care nurses were amazing. So why is this business not allowed a facelift to bring it up to date?
