Good! Mercy needs to learn to spend money for quality employees and services.. not to spend money on non-needed buildings!

On My kid’s been arrested! Tips for what to do next

are you serious?? tips on what to do when your kid gets arrested.. seriously... how about discipline them like we were growing up. granted i was born in 1986, but i still have the fear of god in my parents. i wasnt beat or anything, but they explained and showed us how much it would hurt them or our grandparents how we ruined their name. this is ridiculous and i lost respect for the paper for even writing on this. parents need to stop letting their kids walk all over them. social workers need to be taught that parents have some rights on how to discipline children. im not sayin beat them, but for real, anything is considered child abuse these days. police need to stop going to schools and preaching about child abuse. i have seen cases from working at the hospital and even walking in the grocery store where kids told their parents that they dont have to do anything and they cant make them. its true, parents have no rights on disciplining children these days because dudly-do-right says that pretty much is child abuse. give me a break. seriously. lets find ways to give our kids a break because they messed up. way to go Gazette.

it sucks that Mercy is so cheap to help out patients. Maybe if there was a way for them to charge, then I'm sure it would be possible. I'm sure the nuns that used to run Mercy before it was bought by a penny pinching selfish man, are rolling in their graves at the thought of how much Mercy is out to make a buck instead of helping patients. what happened to their motto, healing in the broadest sense? in order to heal, don't patients have to be able to go to their appointments? For as much as they charge, they should be able to find it somewhere. I know for a fact that the employee's arent seeing the money, hence their 2% raise, but only if they get a perfect score on their annual review. Anyways, I know in Brodhead members of churches, mostly people who have recently retired, are giving people who cant drive, rides to and from appointments, grocery shopping, or even to visit friends in the hospitals or nursing homes. If only everyone else could be so compassionate instead of money grubbing. yeah the economy is bad, but I still help out as much as I can and I am unemployed. People lost the help thy neighbor attitude. Its sad that people as much as they are religious forget to help one another, but when it comes time for same sex marriage, they are raising the bible and praising its every word. I feel for people in time of need, I just wish people would be less selfish and do the same

so lets use chemically made drugs like vicodin for people to get addicted too which has actual side effects of withdrawl for people with problems, versus medical marijuana that has no withdrawal side effects. I love people who say that pot is bad... do your research what is worse chemically made drugs or natural drugs? and for people to get use for recreational, how would they obtain versus people who could obtain scheduale 2 meds like Oxycontin or vicodin or hell even Robitussin(which has recently b used for causing a head rush/high feeling, but because of being chemically made has addiction altering behaviors. Someone show me evidence of a death linked to marijuana vs deaths cause of vicodin (overdose) or alcohol, or any other drug, other then meth, crack etc. Which by the way, pot is not a gateway drug, do research on that. Ask any state that has it legalized and do a death total research of the drug... Oh wait, there arent any.... GET OVER IT CLOSED MINDED PEOPLE! REASERCH, STUDY, LOOK AT FACTS, DO YOUR HOMEWORK... provide me with evidence on keeping it illegal...
