On Chronic wasting disease spreading among deer: DNR

OK. I'm getting sick of people complaining about the deer population and how the DNR is screwing them over. There are to many deer in the state we were over the carrying capacity. I you went into a woods 15-20 years ago there was hardly any understory from over browsing. There is more in the state than deer. Timber is a huge industry between saw mills and paper mills. With a high deer population these places would go out of business because tree regeneration is greatly suppressed. It's called hunting for a reason its not killing season its hunting season. No matter what you people read or think the people in the offices have the degrees and certifications to be making the decisions wiht this not you. I'm not saying they have gone about it the right way but if it is spreading the more agressivly we atack it the better.

The DNR never released any wolves into the state of Wisconsin.
Second paragraph of the Reaserch and managment section.

Also here is a link to a study on the effects of wolves on deer very interesting and good info that will debunk the wolf theories.

I do agree that the DNR screwed things up majorly with unlimited shooting and earn buck but you cant blame the wolves.

I thinks most ten year old's can handle guns as long as you get the right gun to fit them if they can't handle the smallest one then the choice is up to the adult. My concern is how many 10 year olds understand the power a gun holds. They don't know what it means to take a life even if it is an animal it is still taking a life and they should understand that first. They should understand the fact that they are killing that animal to put food on the table and help control their population so that they don't harm themselves. Not just to make mom or dad proud. The dnr just wants more money because it would get them additional sales of licenses.

Suggested fish to be stocked in the lake
Walleye
Crappie
Bass
Perch
Tiger Muskie
All can be kept but the tiger muskie should have a very large size limit. The reason i say tiger muskies and not pike is because pike could take over and become stunted. Tiger Muskies can't breed so they would be there just to keep the fish in check. Many of these species are highly predatory and the reason to have so many predator fish is so you don't end up with stunting of the pan fish like Gibbs Lake.
Just a thought.

Yea he could have shot 3 does for three buck tags but the two zones that include Jackson county only allow one buck per buck tag issued by the DNR. Zone 59C is earn a buck you shoot a doe earn your tag and when you shot a buck you put the sticker on the tag and your done shooting bucks for that designated season. Zone 55 is just herd control you do not need to earn your buck so if you shoot a buck you just put the DNR issued green tag on it with out a sticker.

Then it should say he shot them in drives or group hunting. Because to me when im deer hunting with family i only see them at the cabin in the morning before i head out and when i come back. And if there are people out there like 1919 eternal out there hunting that don't have a clue about the rules in the areas they are hunting because Jackson county is not unlimited unless your going to buy 2 dollar doe tags. You can only kill two bucks a year in earn a buck zones one by bow and one by gun.

On Should state allow cougar shooting?
Posted on January 27 at 2:57 a.m. ( Suggest removal )
You are all under educated in the area you are discussing. None of you know the ecology, biology, or dispersal habits of the cougar(4 legged) in WI. Yes they do come from the dakotas. Most if not all cats sighted in Wi are juvenile males looking to make an area their own from the dakotas. As far as the wolf goes if you want that as a huntable species speak up and say so the animal lovers and people that don't understand conservation and sustainabiltiy are those that are stoping this. As far as tranquilizer guns being loud you are mistaken. They are no luder than an air rifle becuse they are CO2 propelled. All wildlife is publicly owned and the public has the say in how they are managed and what is done. Hence the DNR spring meetings and many others that the public is welcome to. What the people want may not always be the choice at first for a sustainable harvest and growth. For animals hurt or killed by wovles the state already has a payback fee in place. i know most of his complaining is coming from bear hunters. If it were called Killing. everyone in here would be able to watch his cavalier method
