On My biggest pet peeve

Posted on August 27 at 4:12 p.m. ( Suggest removal )

My biggest pet peeve is driving behind someone that is smoking a cigarette with their windows open and the smoke actually leaves their car and enters my car through the windows. I hate the smell and the taste. Then to make things worse....they proceed to throw "THEIR" cigarette butt out the window (instead of using their ashtray) and that too has entered my window. If not my window, then it lays out in the street somewhere as litter. I'd rather see someone water their green nature lawn than to see disqusting cigarette butts all over the place.

On Janesville police investigate shot fired

How come nothing in the news about the girl and the stabbing incident that has not been updated for two days now? No one knows where the stabbing took place and where the knife came from and so on and so forth. It kept stating in the paper "Updated" but nothing new!

You have got to be kidding me! No updates since last night at 7:45. Hell, snail mail moves faster than this news!!!

On Gazette suspends delivery

Sorry! Did not realize that you needed to subscribe to the printed paper to get E-Edition. I only subscribe to the Sunday paper. What I don't understand is that you print out the MarketPlace and distribute that around for free. That must be costly? Would it not be cheaper to not print that and then it would be cheaper for the Gazette itself, because there would not be the cost of the other paper it its delivery person, labor and supplies/material,..etc.

On Two arrested after Wednesday hit and run

Posted on August 7 at 3:23 p.m. ( Suggest removal )

Number one, how does one get charged with hit and run if he was not the driver? And number two, the driver, if found in the vehicle with the keys in the ignition can be charged with OWI. The vehicle does not even have to be running and can be in park. Thoughts & Prayers to the woman and her family along with a speedy recovery. Hopefully the young man had insurance.

On Favre featured in field

Thank goodness, you changed the headline on this article. I thought someone did some real bodily harm to Great #4! Finding his head in a field??? That was a little scary!

On Janesville bar owner killed in motorcycle crash

My deepest thoughts to Suzanne, Jessica, Andrew, Barb & Brenda. I grew up in the neighborhood with Mark & his sisters. He was always a character that had you laughing and smiling. In fact my last time seeing him was at Hammy's, up front as usual, singing "Johnny Cash". With his personality, who could not like him. My husband works for a vending company and every business he walked into today, someone was talking about "Hammy" being such a great guy and only kind words were being said.
Jessica, keep your chin up and your dad will be by your side as you walk down that aisle. An earring will move, a wisp of hair will tickle your face..something will be a sign for his little girl. Andrew, your the man of the house now...but don't be afraid to let your guard down, let others support you at this time. Suzanne, I am so very sorry. I wish I knew the words to make it all better and take away all the heartache. One day at a time is all I know.
Barb & Brenda~Your brother was a great guy! Hold dear his memories.

On Residents oppose planned bike tunnel

Why not just build one of those cross over sidewalks like they have in Milwaukee and Madison? That goes up and over and is merely a sidewalk with rails. I'd rather ride over and be seen than to ride through and not know who is sitting and waiting for their next prey!!!!

On Man robbed at knifepoint

Let's say the robber (crackhead) did meet the victim at the hardware store and observed his wallet was full. Hopefully the hardware store has surveillance cameras and caught his face on video. Then plaster it all over the paper. Some other crackhead is bound to turn their buddy in for the reward money so they can buy more goodies for themselves.

On Web numbers surge; does print suffer?

Posted on July 5 at 6:06 p.m. ( Suggest removal )

What I don't understand is why the Janesville Gazette printed a paper for the 4th of the July (Friday) with Saturdays date on it and two (2) day old news. I went to the Brewer game on Friday which they won 9-1. And read the Saturday 7/5/08 Gazette (published on Friday 7/4/08)with a headline that the Brewers were beaten in the 9th inning, 6-5 which they played on Thursday. What's up?
