On Park booze ban could go in Janesville
Posted on January 25 at 6:15 a.m. ( Suggest removal )
I do not want to pay more for rental fees for pavilions just so alcohol can be served.
It is bad enough where the beer tents are allowed at functions and the adults are on the inside of the fenced in area and the little kids are on the outside not be tended to.
Most functions that take part at these pavilions are family oriented. Why do we need alcohol involved with everything Janesville does.
Laborfest
Taste of Janesville
Rock around the Block
4th of July
Example: Look at the church that competes with Janesville for the 4th of July. It appears more people show up there and enjoy themselves without booze.
I certainly don't have anything against alcohol, but please leave the parks as they are. I also believe this is another reason the families use these pavilions...knowing alcohol is not allowed.
Can you imagine renting one half of the pavilion, when on the other side is loud, drunk, obnoxious patrons of another gathering?

If they are unemployed.....why would they need child care services??

Maybe next year.....there should be a limit. Instead of selling hundreds of dollars worth of the uncooked pork chops. Allow maybe 4 per person. So that there is still some for others to enjoy that waited patiently in their cars and ended up with none. Or maybe next year...Have orders called ahead for the uncooked pork chops. It is suppose to be a Porkfest, not a butcher shop!
On No drugs found during search of high school parking lots

I believe if you check the students cars, lockers & such. You should also set an example to the students and perform the same drug/alcohol search of the desk, cars & purses of the Support staff & teachers. Knowing a few teachers during my school days & during my childrens school days. THERE ARE TEACHERS THAT DO DRUGS & ALCOHOL DURING THE TIME THEY ARE SUPPOSE TO BE TEACHING OUR STUDENTS. In fact, there was a teacher that smelled of alcohol everytime I saw him during conferences, athletic activities & other school functions. So you tell me he was not under the influence when he was suppose to be teaching!!! Remember, drugs are in all walks of life....lawyers, doctors, politicians, nurses & TEACHERS/PRINCIPALS!!!!
On Former director charged with stealing from day care

Having worked at this daycare under Debbie, she pulled a lot of wool over a lot of people's eyes. She almost cost the girls that work at this daycare their jobs, let alone the care of the children. Because from my understanding, there may have been enough money for one more weeks worth of wages. Also, she is no longer the director and has been out for a while. The article should have stated "Previous Director of Faith's Little Friends Daycare". Because it sounds as if she was still working there. Investigations had to be done to prove anything first before letting her go. The teachers that are there are excellent caregivers & instructors. And the director that has taken her place is reliable and an asset to the daycare. Debbie used this money for vacations, family bills, her kids extra-curricular activities, and drinking. I could go on and on about this woman. I truly feel sorry for her husband and their kids. Let's not forget all the hours she wrote down that she was working 40 hours a week. When in fact she was lucky she was there 5 hours a week. I bet those charges are not included in the embezzlements. But yet she came to work, not allowing those girls any overtime payments for hours they worked extra or on their own time taking work home everyday or raises because they were told that there was no money being made. Hopefully there is a follow-up by the gazette. Instead of throwing out the information with no ending to the story.

On Favre's agent: NY Jets QB retiring

Anyone that says that watching the Packers this last season was enjoyable apparently does not care what team they watch. They might as well been watching the Lions play. Brett Favre brought that little kid at heart ethusiasm to the game and you were always on the edge of your seat. Unlike this season with the Packers, you could get up to go to the bathroom and not worry about missing anything. I used to enjoy watching Packer games. But when Brett left, it was not the same. I then started to watch the Jets games for that same enjoyment. Remember, because an interception is made, does not always happen because of the quarterback. Receivers are not always where they are suppose to be. Brett tried to make things happen and brought excitement to the game. Brett has his heart in the game and with all his starts you knew he loved the game and did not want to quit. Go to the sidelines Brett and become a coach so I have a team to follow once again!!Unlike the management, Thompson & McCarthy!!!! They wanted him to play like that new guy-Rodgers...sit back, shut up and do as we say. This is not high school ball. Plus, I heard that Rodgers & Thompson were a couple behind the scenes.

On Official: Toddler was at babysitter's home during fatal dog attack
Posted on March 7 at 2:29 p.m. ( Suggest removal )
It's one thing if the children are raised with the dog. But a
Small child at eye level around any type of dog is cause for concern. The child pokes or pulls at the dog in play and the dog takes it as aggression. Hell I've seen this in chihuahuas, poodles, St. Bernards and even humans.
