This along with all the other forms of entertainment are accomplishing exactly what they want. Entertain the masses to death with crap that has no bearing on our lives whatsoever. People are always going to give in and get hooked on this media because it's just too difficult to actually work towards a dream of our own anymore. It's easier to sit at home on our duffs and live it through someone else than actually go through the "dream, struggle and victory process on our own.

@SIGMA40; you're comparing a casino to a church? Get real. The truth is, the casino's use tactics like cheap meals, free drinks, shows etc. to entice people to stick around longer and lose more money. And, they do prey on the weak. Most notably, the poor who see the casino as their one ticket to actually get ahead. It's a lie! Most people lose, that's a fact. You show me a casino that gives sound education regarding financial common sense and principles that help deal with stress in life, and I might listen to you. Oh, and by the way, the financial common sense and stress education I was talking about is given to those in need FREELY at my church and it doesn't require a person to part with their money! ;)

@ winstonchill, You're right on target with that post. Notice how truth falls on deaf ears? People would rather haggle back in forth in a blog site in an endless effort to to proclaim how "right" they are rather than face the issues with an educated and tactful approach to actually finding solutions to them. Man is truly it's own worst enemy.

northman~ good points. There's a huge difference between "knowledge" and "wisdom". (I'll take wisdom anyday!) Many say knowledge is power... incorrect! Only knowledge APPLIED is power.

I can see where people can find John's words "offensive". Me personally, I'm okay with it. I'm not saying everything he says is 100% on, or that 100% of everything I say is either, but I'd rather have someone tell me the truth, even if it comes across as offensive. At least that way, we can actually start doing something to make things better. It's like having a doctor give us a diagnosis. I'd rather he/she tell me the truth so I can deal with my health issues now, before it's too late, rather than have them not tell me the whole truth just because they don't want to hurt my feelings. I believe John Eyster cares, therefore he says what he says. I can respect that.

For you, brethren, have been called to liberty; only do not use liberty as an opportunity for the flesh, but through love, serve one another.

Troy, my family and friends are so grateful for your service and sacrifice in defending our freedoms. I pray everyday that the people of this country can have a great awakening and understand that freedom isn't just up to the military...it's OUR duty as well!
