On Farmland preservation balances urban, ag needs

No farmland preservation for Avon township? Ah, that's because it's already protected, plus the DNR owns a large percentage of the township already.

On Milton enacts fine for anti-bullying ordinance

Posted on July 21 at 10:05 a.m. ( Suggest removal )

And who reports the bullying to the officers? Teachers or the victims? And how long till some of the kids figure out how to bully other kids into defending themselves at the *perfect* moment, and get stuck with a hefty fine? It will happen..... Seen it many times.... poke poke poke poke poke poke poke poke, when you stand up for yourself and poke back: thats when you get in trouble for defending yourself.

On What are Neumann, Walker smoking?

Posted on July 15 at 1:46 p.m. ( Suggest removal )

One Twinkie won't make a person unhealthy. And don't forget the exhaust from the truck that delivered it....

I look at it like this: it's the constitutional right as an individual to have the right to work in a smoke free environment. I completely agree. However, if you don't want to smell like cow sh!t, then don't work on a farm. There are other options to working in a smoking environment--and for those who would say that money is good working in a bar: not anymore. Not since the smoking ban.

On Edgerton might keep police dog after all

Posted on May 28 at 10:41 p.m. ( Suggest removal )

K-9 units are trained to attack. Perhaps it was a bad move on the dog's fault, but everybody knows somebody who has been bitten by a dog for no apparent reason. Teeth happen. And so now the dog is expected to be returned or "taken care of" at the taxpayers expense. Nice.

On Remains of father, grandfather crushed in towed car

Homeless: maybe not. Many truck drivers live in their truck. They keep a smaller vehicle in a home town, so that when they come home they can drive something that's not a semi. But still seems odd to store ashes in a car.
