Wow mfd - that's pretty rude. How do you know how much the Blain family or Bliss Comm gives back to the community? I would bet that they're already doing quite a lot - it is not their responsibility to entertain you on the 4th of July just because they have more money than you do. If everyone interested in having fireworks in Janesville sent $10 or $20 to the Aqua Jays to help out, instead of waiting for someone to come in and offer a "bailout", the cost would be covered.

Oh - now it's "an error in communications" as opposed to "an accounting error". It's still $750,000 that wasn't accounted for !! How can they miss an entire program on the books? State grant money at that - aren't there additional reporting requirements for that? What sort of nimrods are running this district ?!?

On Neighbors concerned about foreclosed properties

A foreclosed property in our neighborhood was bought on the courthouse steps by a slumlord - not repaired, not maintained, and rented out after sitting empty and deteriorating for a long time. Are there rules in place to prevent this abuse by slumlords? Do rental properties have to be inspected by the City before they can be rented out? I am not only concerned about neighborhood blight, but also tenant safety.
