On You’ll get billed even without using water
Why are these fixed charges not included on our property tax bills instead? Or, at the very least, labeled correctly on our quarterly "water" bills? Calling it a water or wastewater "base fee" is misleading. By the way, what is the "stormwater" charge of $9.50 for?
On Walker signs work share bill
Of course it's about the Affordable Care Act. Republicans supporting more government involvement, jumping on board with Obama? Please .... think a little harder on that one. And claiming honesty on the part of Democrats? You're kidding, right?
On Skelly's Farm Market starts Eat Well, Give Well program
Thank you, Skelly's, for your generosity and community spirit !
On With health insurance done, Janesville School Board turns to budget
...but the Alliance gives the choice of using Dean or Mercy providers, correct ?
On Changes to add academic rigor in high schools would begin in 2014
Really, people? This all sounds great to me. More opportunities to take electives. Holding kids to a higher standard. Starting at 7:45 will help with traffic between Parker & Franklin. Smaller class sizes.
On Janesville School District showcases its educational options
"Literally, every student counts." As additional dollars. Lovely.
On Some question school workers' benefits
5 weeks of paid vacation for a clerical worker? That's excessive. Teachers get no paid vacation during the school year and only two personal days ? With all the _____ they put up with on a daily basis, two measly days off is indeed "obscene".
On Dog sought after bite on Janesville bike trail
And who thinks it's a good idea to have dogs on the trails and in the parks ??
On Janesville School Board to move on health plans
Sounds like a sweet deal for Mercy. Spend more to keep the plan and the doctors you have, or save money by switching to Mercy. I think I'd be a little upset if I worked for Dean / St. Mary's.
On Theater groups question rental costs
I'm a huge fan of both Bower City and of JPAC. That being said, it certainly doesn't seem like JPAC is "promoting the arts" and "serving the community" by driving out one of the main forces behind the arts in Janesville. Bower City is full of extraordinary people with amazing levels of talent and dedication, and they bring the arts to more people than probably any other group in town - give them a discount, and keep them in Janesville.
