On Sex offenders among homeless population

Posted on December 31 at 5:50 p.m. ( Suggest removal )

I have no pity whatsoever for these scumbags. As far as I'm concerned, they never get what they truly deserve! Not only do they scar and damage their victims, their family members have to pay a high price too. These sex offenders chose the consequences they end up with when they decided to carry out their disgusting acts on innocent victims.

On People protest plea deal in child abuse case

Posted on July 9 at 6:45 p.m. ( Suggest removal )

I see a huge part of this problem as being the D.A.'s office because they're the ones who offer the plea deals in the first place. If the defendent accepts one, that pretty much shuts the door on how far the judge can go with regard to sentencing. Cantu initially was charged with a felony but had it reduced to a misdemeanor because he took the plea deal. So DISGUSTING and a real kick in the face to everyone who are sickened by such violence against a defenseless and innocent child. However, Rock County D.A. O'Leary doesn't care...I don't buy for one second that a felony against a reasonable doubt couldn't have been proved in this case!!

Woodsman, I also would like to see Davis provide actual numbers. A big concern of mine is that Davis doesn't have the knowledge and the long-term interest required to manage an Ice Arena which is evidenced over the years by her lack of involvement and possible solutions to decrease the subsidy. In order for the Ice Arena to even have a chance, somebody who knows how to manage it needs to be put in charge, not Davis just because of her title. That doesn't mean she knows what she's doing in this area. The manager needs to know the mechanics, fund raising skills, physical operations, etc. of an ice skating arena. Davis has none of that and I have to blame the former city manager for not doing a better job of putting capable people in this situation.

The only reason Davis is pushing for the junior A hockey team is because she knows the new city manager heavily favors it. Otherwise Davis viewed the Ice Arena as a drain on staffing time and money. If she really felt it was important, then why hasn't she done anything to help decrease the subsidy over the years? As the article states, for 2008 it ended up in the negative by $85,000! And how about previous years? How much were they in the red? I've been to the Ice Arena with my kids several times in the past; it definitely wasn't one of their favorite places to go. They preferred sledding, snow boarding, and cross country skiing. I do agree that Janesville needs to step up and make this community more attractive, however Davis doesn't provide a convincing arguement regarding the Ice Arena, especially when looking at how poorly she has managed it over the years when looking at yearly subsidies.

Thankyou Villalamesville for the information. I e-mailed this story and some comments to Judy Robson, Michael Sheridan, Chuck Benedict, and Channel 27. I'm going to call O'Leary's office and Van Hollen's office tomorrow.

JohnDoe, I am sure the conditions of the bond are the usual...in general, no contact with the victim, stay out of trouble, and show up for court. Yes, I am feeling alot of emotion regarding this situation.

They're out on practically no bond AND without attempted murder charges because the court and DA are having a love affair with those two useless pieces of trash, Stephanie and Norbert.
