On Janesville Town Board to hold hearing on 'racetrack' road
Gopper beat me to the simple solution. put the mailboxes on the east side of the road. While i simpathize with the three homeowners, Dozens if not hundreds of people use that road everyday. I lived that way for many years, and my parents still do. To my knowledge i have never seen an accident on that stretch.
On Retire now, teachers union advises
i would have to agree with TCB. At one time, unions were a much needed entity which saved employees from sweat shops and unfair wages. but over time they have developed into a self serving overpowered monster with a "MOB" like mentality. We do not hate teachers. I applaud them with the great job that they do, with what modern society has turned into. Do to the current mindset that children have been given with the politicaly correct ideology that there will be no spankings or little or no repurcutions for wrongful acts these kids act like ... well... union members
On Gun show shutdown might lead to lawsuit
well said MAXCAP. cynical, background checks are part of the deal. i believe that they only apply to handguns. Myself being a hunter, and a gun enthusiast believe that the background check should be required on all firearms retail purchases. It is the least we can do to protect our communities as well as our rights.

On As 'storm chaser' season arrives, beware fly-by-night contractors, officials warn
Dealing with storm chasers can cause huge headaches down the road if you have a warranty issue. chances are they will not be found after they leave the area. Check with local lumber yards who deal with roofing companies every day. They will only recomend quality roofers who are in good financial standing (they pay their bills), and do quality work. It would reflect on the lumber yard if they recomended less than quality roofers.
On People Who Matter 2012
I do congratuate these people for going above and beyond. My erlier commment was not intended to take away from their actions. I applaud them.
not to be a whiner, but don't we all matter?? should this not be called people who shine or something to that affect. "People who Matter" has always bothered me.
On City workers will receive merit pay
When will the city wake up and realize we are all struggling and we need a break. Most of us have had to take cutbacks in our pay. Myself about 25% what makes you people so freakin special?
