On Staskal to remain institutionalized

Posted on May 3 at 11:20 p.m. ( Suggest removal )

Mark was found Not Guilty by reason of mental defect, or however they word it. If his doctors feel he ever becomes well enough to function outside of Mendota, he will have to be released. Or if he gets another judge like Byron who wouldn't listen to Mark's doctors or parents who said he is still dangerous.

On Milton man arrested after standoff

Did they mean to say E. Madison Ave? I don't think we have a E. Madison St. in Milton.

Boy, what a compassionate bunch you are. I hope you never have any problems in your life that might bother anyone. If you do just shut up and suck it up, because for all the empathy you guys have, nobody will care weather you are hurting or not. I hope Gary gets the help he needs and is obviously reaching out for.

On GM to end 'jobs bank' Monday

ynot, YES unions are GREAT. Without them, you don't know what the next day will bring. You could go home earning a set dollar amount and the next day oh sorry, we are cutting your pay (ask my mother about that). Oh well, to bad you were over paid anyway. With out a union, you are sick or you have a sick child and can't come to work one day, to bad, so sad, but you are fired! There can be alot wrong with unions, but I would MUCH rather work with a union, than without one.

On Verona schools tightening security

So in other words, you guys would rather have someone stroll unchallenged into the schools and open fire with a gun, killing who knows how many. And THEN you could start screaming that they should have done something BEFORE anything happened? Unfortunately we no longer live in an age where something like that would be unheard of. I don't really like all the added security (and not just in the schools), but I would rather have an extra layer of protection around our children than I would want to figure out how something like that could have happened in our schools.

On Two-sided story: Schools, parents debate twins’ placement

Posted on August 31 at 12:55 a.m. ( Suggest removal )

This is nothing new in the school systems. While I am not a twin, a cousin and I are about a month apart in age. We were always at each other's house as we were growing up and were more like sisters than cousins. After kindergarden our teachers thought we depended to much on each other and needed to be seperated, so we were put in different classes every other year after that. I know it isn't the same as it is with twins, but this was their solution for us at that time (more years ago than I really want to admit to!) We stayed close, and were able to make our own set of friends seperately and together.

One correction to soside4life. Mark was found NOT guilty by reason of mental defect!! That is one of the reasons why Byron is saying he should be out!! He is saying he was never found guilty of the murder. What BULL.
