I signed the petition, but not about collective bargaining. It's the anti- environment, anti-middle class, pro helping the rich get richer stuff I'm petitioning against!

On Could you eat well enough on food stamps?

I am not on food stamps, but I know of many people who are. These people generally are the "working poor", that is, they work, but in low paying jobs that can't support them. Sometimes they are students (who will pay into tax rolls in future years), elders (who paid taxes for many years), single parents with unpaid child support (condemn the other parent, not them),those with real disabilities who cannot work, and also the unemployed who cannot find work. Judge not that you be not judged.

Brenda - do you honestly think that those of us who work (and then race home to try to find a little tiny bit of time with our children) don't need to work to keep a sense of who we are too? We are all made up of many roles, values, relationships... That's who we are.

My husband and I both work full-time in professional positions and can barely make ends meet. (and no, we eat out only once per week, with coupons, at a buffet, we never go to movies...) WE don't have the time to keep our house clean for OUR elementary students.I OFTEN clean my own office after I do play therapy with kids. If there's such a mess, have the kids clean up the worst of it. Don't ask me to pay alot more for a cleaning person for kids who's houses aren't cleaned every day.
On Virtual school applicants likely exceed cap

Teachers and their union voted for a cap so we don't lose numbers/money in the regular schools. These schools don't say that anything is more important than school, there are many reasons to do schooling via the internet; students move at their own pace and are not waiting or waited for by others, they may be leery of all the bullying, drugs, and sexualized behaviors in our schools, they may want to be involved in other activities that are also enriching...

Also, just as a comment on Biblical perfection (the bible is always right, but it is not always factually true as written). If Adam and Eve were real people, they had only sons. With whom did those sons mate to procreate? Eve, apes... Perhaps there were some other people there. Maybe Steve...

On What did Walker have to do with GM closing?
Posted on January 11 at 8:04 a.m. ( Suggest removal )
It is just the irony. My husband took the pic and found it hysterical! It's not a blame to Walker for the plant closing, just point out that his "job creation" plan is about as successful as this ad!
