On Dog euthanized after police pursuit in Milton

It doesn't sound like the dog was a threat if he was running away from the cops. An aggressive dog would attack if they feel threatened.

Poor dog! Poor family! Doesn't sound like they (MPD) are capable of making wise choices. Seems like they just wanted to end it, so they hit the dog, which does NOT by any means look like a pit bull.

On Poverty's punch: Stress, uncertainty haunt children in poverty

Why is it she doesn't have a job? I guess I don't understand that part. There are alot of single parents out there who work full time or maybe work part time so you are with the kids when they are home from school. Obviously she didn't learn from the way she grew up so hopefully the children will and will try to do better for themselves.

On GM to lay off more employees

Posted on June 19 at 6:25 p.m. ( Suggest removal )

I think at a time like this everyone should pull together. There are alot of people out there right now who are losing everything they have due to the flooding. I don't think that it really matters where these people work, the bottom line is they are human beings and they need everyones support. If a person walked up to you and asked for a ride for his family because his car is flooded in his garage are you going to ask him if he is a GM employee first or would you just offer to help? I'd like to think that we would just help. Once again....to ALL the people out there affected by the layoffs and the flooding, no matter who you are and no matter how much money you make....I wish you all the luck in the world!

One more thing......I don't consider myself "jealous" of GM employees. Envious----most definitley, but definitley not jealous.

I would just like to say that I am sorry for ALL the people that will be affected by this. Throughout the years I tried to get into GM. I would have loved to work there, making that kind of money, but I didn't have a family member that already worked there. I was told that was the only way to get in there. But I survived. I got an extremely low paying job....don't laugh but I stared out at $6.25 an hour. I have now worked my way up the "ladder" and I'm proudly now making about $4.00 more an hour. I make it work. But with the way things are going these days I'm glad to be able to say, at least I have a job. Good luck to All the people affected by this. Everyone will get through this. It is a shock, but life goes on.
