Thanks bella,
its sad when families have to move to find work. In the old days people moved west to find a better life but California is a mess. I guess we all should start to learn chinese and move to china or maybe hindi and move to india because thats where all the jobs are going. Good luck with your move.

Wow the republicans came out. Does someone making $16,640 a year help the economy grow. What that does is help line the pockets of the rich. My problem is that if a company has a 100 jobs and 30 of them are filled permanently by supposed temp help then that is wrong. If you want to use a temp agency to check the person out and after the predetermined hours hire them that is fine. But I can work as a there for $8 an hour forever till they hire me and who knows how long that takes. I didnt realize that wanting to make a living wage was so wrong. Even when these employees are hired in a majority of them still make below the poverty level. I understand that you need to work your way up but there is no up for the so called temp person. No raises, no vacation, no holiday pay, no health benefits. These companies are the reason in 25 to 50 years no one will be able to retire. How can you save money if you dont pay a living wage. These people at 8 to 12 dollars an hour will have a hard time buying houses, new cars and other luxury items that drive our economy up and create jobs. If no one can afford to buy anything then we lose jobs. I took this job because a Lead out there didnt have a clue and I was told I would probably get hired in right away and make over 15 dollars an hour. Once I get there I couldnt find any one making that much out on the floor plus there is no guarantee that I will get hired. Why would they when they can pay me 8 to do the same job as someone making 12 with benefits. As far as work ethic, it doesnt matter! I show up for work every day, on time and do my job better that some of the regulars but that will not get me a position unless someone quits. I have always done my job and worked hard regardless of what I am paid. But 8 dollars will not save my house. If it is a great place to work why do they have high turn over rates? Because the pay is terrible. I have a great resume so I will find something different over the next couple of months. I only took this because I was lied to by a person in managment to get me to apply.

They fail to tell us that at least a 3rd of those jobs are filled by temp help making 8 dollars an hour and recieve no benefits. I am currently working at kettle thru a temp agency and know first hand that they do this. They only hire on when a regular employee quits. I have talked to people who have told me it took around a year before they go hired in. Then Kettle uses that date to determine raises and benefits. We need to stop companies like this from abusing the use of "temp" employees. To many companies are getting state money by promising jobs and then just bring in a bunch of people from a job service so they can get away with out having to provide benefits. I myself boycot Kettle chips because of this practice and do not even take the chips when they are free. They do not have fair labor practices. If you need 100 employees then hire 100 people not hire 70 and then permanently fill the other 30 with temp service help. Shame on Kettle Foods.

On Paul Ryan branches out, looks for new faces of Republican Party

He must be looking for someone to vote for his roadmaps. He is a NO man unless it is a policy he brought up to vote. I think he would be gone if ever there was a good candidate to run against him. The gazette doesnt help either. Have you seen the picture the paper always runs of his competition. I swear they always find the worst picture the help sway peoples minds about Ryans competition.

What most people dont get is that a majority of the companies out there are asking for the world in an employee and only want to pay 8 dollars an hour for it. Or they want someone to work 7 days a week for little pay. If something that pays more than 10 dollars per hour comes along there are hundreds of people applying for it and it usually goes to someone with a connection in the company. I am not a lazy unemployed person. I have sent resumes to dozens of companies with out a single response. I am also taking classes so that hopefully I will be able to get into a higher paying job but have to wait for acceptance into a program with a waiting list. There is also the problem that some of us out there are over qualified for many of the job openings and many companies dont want to hire us because they figure we will leave when something better comes along so it is better to hire a highschool drop out that thinks 9 dollars per hour is a great wage.
On Chinese decision awaits school board

The only reason the chinese classes started in the first place is that some asian group came to the school board and offered up money if they would add it to the schools. The excuse that more people speak chinese is a weak one. China is the most populated country in the world and most of them are uneducated and living in rice fields. The odd of any of our children ever needing to speak this language is almost non existant. This has nothing to do with helping our children's educations but more to do with a special interest group offering the city money.
On Plan Commission recommends against chickens

They rid problems in the lawn and yard. Are these chickens on leashes or in coops. If you are talking about letting 4 chickens run loose then we have a problem. I could generate funds for the city though. 5 bucks a chicken to license them, plus the fines for when they are found running loose, cause a chicken doesnt come when you call it.

Ryan is claiming the Obama wants bipartisanship and crying the democrats then wont approve his bill. Ryan has never had any compromise. Sometime even within his own party. His Ideas to him are the only good ideas and will not compromise them. He has gotten so egotistical in the way he see other peoples ideas. The only reason he is still in office is that he never has anyone remotely qualified to run against him and that is unfortunate. I am not say the democrats are doing a good job of working with the republicans but Ryan has never worked well with any one. I repeat again Ryan believes that his ideas are the only good ideas and will kill any bill that isnt his own.
