Wrong again AMAZED - I don't work for Chief Wilson, but I would be glad to do so any day. But... I am not surprised - again, you don't know what you're talking about or who you're talking to.

Why don't you try telling us who Mr. Flying AJ's is going to use as his key witness regarding discrimination - when his so called back up just resigned instead of facing a trial?!?! I've seen the poor condition that this school is in - and I understand that money is tight for people right now, but wake up Brodhead - don't you want your children in a save school, instead of one that is crumbling down around them.
And for those that mention school choice - yes, that is always an option, but is it realistic for everyone? School choice kids - are to be transported back and forth to school - there goes your extra gas money traveling to where Janesville, Beloit, further?

Thanks smartypants, and congrats on your daughters previous win!! I'm sure it was well deserved! Nothing is perfect for everyone, so these narrow minded complainers need to get a life. What does singing have to do with an ag fair, well what do rides have to do with an ag fair then? Why have any grandstand musical entertainment at all because they have nothing to do with ag - OH, right... it brings in crowds. I think some of these people need to change their user names to clueless or havenolife!

Ok, so obviously there wouldn't be a fair without the 4H members and all there hard work and yes, they deserve more coverage than what they received. However, those of you complaining about the "Star" competition, I can guarantee you'd be right up there in the front row cheering on a friend or family member of yours, if they had the talent and/or the nerve to get up there and sing in front of all those people. And speaking of all those people, I know for certain a lot of them showed up specifically for the "Star" competition. At $8 a person and the 30 or more people that showed up with me and my family to see the "Star" competition, they made $240 on enterance fees alone wednesday night, not to mention food, drinks and rides, which wouldn't have been spent had it not been for the contest. And... then you have another $240, food, drinks, etc. that we went back and spent thursday since our girl won and sung again. So, all you complainers take a look at the whole picture on what brings all different people to the fair, it's not just the animals and the projects. Also, for those of you who may complain further, saying I know nothing about what the fair is about, since I was only there for the competition, think again, I AM a Former 4H member.

On UPDATE: Beloit police arrest suspect

Although the type of issues vary, they are everywhere, not just Beloit, Janesville, or Milton. I think that not only do the parents need to step it up and take control of their children, but the Police Department in these areas as well. Not that I think the PD doesn't do their job, but as communities linked together by location, I think there should be some laws linked as well. For instance, my friend's daughter left another friends house (in Beloit) to go to another friend's house, with her parent's permission. Big deal right? Well, the daughter was 17 and the time was 12:30 am - curfew in Beloit is 11:00 for anyone under the age of 18, therefore the daughter received a ticket for being out past curfew. Another friend who's daughter lives in Janesville with the other parent, wasn't answering her phone, wasn't coming home, basically doing what she pleased, when she pleased, the trouble maker type. The mother called the police to find out what she could do and she was told that because the girl was 16, the only thing she could do was to call her in as a runaway. If and only if they happened to see her, they would pick her up and bring her home, HOWEVER... she was also told at 16 she was considered an adult and they couldn't make her stay home, nor was there a curfew that they could use as a means to pick her up either, and because this child was 16, even if the parent's wanted to refer her to juvenile detention, she's too old. Basically, there was nothing the parents could do. There may seem to be more of the shooting type aspects going on in Beloit, but with 16 year old allowed to run amuck with no consequences, Janesville isn't far behind.
