nutty, you forgot another option: lower the fee to $2.00. I bet more would be willing to pay that and they wouldn't be scaring so many people away.

re Villajanesville's comment - since when is it a police officer's responsibility to stop and help elderly people put their groceries in their car? I suppose if one of them actually did do this, then there would be a whole mess of people complaining that the officer isn't doing his job of fighting crime and enforcing the law because he/she is too busy helping old people.... ridiculous!

I don't see what the problem is. I keep my dog on her leash from when I let her out of the truck until we get a ways into the trails (away from the road) and then when we're returning to the road, I put her on the leash when we get close again until she's in the truck. If you're nervous about that one trail that runs parallel with Palmer Drive, just don't use that one - there are plenty of other trails. Pretty simple!

Just wanted to say that I recently had personal contact with Deputy Weberg in an incident where he responded and was most impressed with how he handled the situation. He was professional, compassionate, patient, informative and VERY helpful in the situation. Any honor he receives is well deserved in my opinion. Congrats to all and thanks for your hard work!!

After reading some of these posts, I think they should send some of the people posting here to school on those days. Maybe they could have special spelling and grammar classes those days.

Whatever happened to the value of family time? Our weekends are short enough as it is - why take that away from families? My second grader is not suffering any permanent loss because of a few days of school missed due to the weather. In the big picture, it does not make a difference in her overall education. I don't believe any of us would look back and say "dang, I really wish they wouldn't have missed those three days of school that year; it sure would have made a difference." For anyone to say that education is not important to me because I don't wish to send my child to school on a Saturday, when it's not necessary, is ridiculous!
Think about this: I'll bet there are some out there with younger children who would be all for Saturday make up days simply because it's free child care for a couple Saturdays. Hmmmmm......
Don't tell me education isn't important to me!

Kinda strange that they have kids activities planned, but are only offering the tours while most children are in school.
