I enjoy walking the Ice Age Trail, but it isn't plowed in the winter.

On Are Walmart gripes justified?

Who planted the trees farther South along the Ice Age Trail behind Pine Tree Plaza? They must have cost a small fortune. They look nice now, but in a few years they will be gorgeous. Perhaps Walmart or Mercy?

On Wisconsin college vice chancellor decides to quit

It is a common practice. They are called rehired annuitants. Now UWGB will have to hire someone that will be getting benefits as well as the pay. The rehired chancellor was only getting the pay.

On Bike trail closure near Walmart

It is not a bike trail, it is the Federal Ice Age Trail. I don't understand why it has to be closed. A more informative article would be appreciated.

What makes this one different is that there is hardly anyone out there, on both sides, who is not affected in some way by this bill.

On Bring Out the Machine

I recently bought one so I don't know if it will go to the appliance graveyard someday or not. I like the bread, and usually set it on delay so that the bread is done when I get up in the morning.

On Walker renews calls for union concessions

Hmmmmm! Seems fair.

Madison -- The state could save $154 million to help cover a budget shortfall this year by cutting state worker benefits, Governor-elect Scott Walker said.

Walker pegged the state's budget shortfall in this fiscal year ending June 30 at more than $150 million due to deficits in the state's health programs for the poor, road programs and state public defender office.

But Walker said the state could save $95 million this fiscal year by requiring state workers to contribute 5% toward their pensions and could save $59 million through as yet unspecified "adjustments" to state worker health plans.
