On More parents forgo immunizations for children

I assume that this per the vaccination forms that are collected through the districts. I know of people that simply sign the waiver, even though their children have been vaccinated because every year we have to re-enter the exact same information. It is ridiculous that one is expected to do this- if they want the history of immunizations, why can't they keep it from one year to the next.... Personally, I sign the waiver because I don't think the school needs to be involved with my children's medical status- provided they aren't going to school sick, they do not need to know...

justmy- My issue with Hoag has nothing - at all- to do with ability to pay. I spent years as a social worker, and am the biggest advocate of equal rights you could ever meet.
+
My issue with Hoag is his taking cases that hold no merit. He has represented individuals that, in my opinion, he should have known had no real case. People whose claims were asanine, or whose accusations were simply absurd.
+
To me, it is immoral to take someone's money if you know - or fully expect- that the case will be thrown out of the court and never heard.
+
That is what I am referring to. Of course, we all have the right to due process and should all have the ability to defend ourselves. A decent attorney will tell you if you don't have a case. Only a dishonest person would take money for something that they know you hold very little to no chance to win.

I have worked with nearly all of the candidates and some point or another. My opinion is this:
O. Daniel is too ruthless and tough, almost uncaring...
Hoag will take any case- regardless of its merit- if you can pay, Hoag will represent you- which I find immoral.
I am indifferent to the others, except Haakenson. Mike is wonderful- he and his mother have done a lot to better the community. I have seen him work as a guardian ad litem and has always been professional, thorough, and caring.
Hands down- Haakenson gets my vote.

Feduptaxpayer- It is silly to act like the people that are signing are from out of state. Every person that I know (bar one) has either signed or is planning on signing. Every one. All from here. Accept it. We don't all think alike and making assumptions about 500k people is just silly.

Officerfriendly- state popluation has NOTHING to do with anything.

Obviously, only a small percentage of people actually vote.
*
Children are still 'people' and count for population, but don't vote...
*
So, what was your point there?

totellthetruth- I think you are wrong. Myself, my ex and several friends all intend to sign, but haven't yet. Collectively, I know of 20 people that intend to sign. 17 haven't yet... We are discussing all going together, though, and making a day of it!

Mr. Gunderson is the best! Kids are so excited for gym class! It is so different from when I was a kid and I hated gym. When the sign up for Funderson is given to the kids, it is a complete madhouse to get their slips in! Great teacher, nice person, fabulous school. Rock on.

Heidi is a very kind lady and would not do something to harm someone else. Her actions are perfectly fine. She purchased a property that was for sale. Whatever happened to that house previously is simply NOT her responsibility.

nicksmom- really? Please give me a scenario where my school would need to know about my child's vaccinations. The only reason that they would need to know would be if there were an outbreak. Of course, if there were an outbreak, then, it could be discussed then. I don't believe in 'pre-emptively' telling them everything about my child. And, calling 'stupid'- wow- I think that blindly accepting that there is a 'need' because a question is asked, is far more stupid. Think for yourself.
And, I have 4 children- have signed waivers for all- due to privacy reasons- not going to tell them all of this information every single year. They have never been excluded from anything, and, they do everything- scouts, sports, academic groups, misc. In grades 1-8, so please tell me what they would be excluded from.... Nothing. Fear mongering.
