On Bonding for life: Annual relay brings people, teams together to fight cancer

flowergirl - I read that web site with shock! We were fortunate to have my husband treated at UW Madison by the top researchers in the field of his type of cancer. They said that for some cancers, such as lung, they know the cause - smoking, obviously! But for others there is no cause. The web site you posted is giving false information on the prevention of the cancers that there is no found reasons why they happen or how to prevent them! The best place for a patient with cancer is at a teaching hospital such as UW Madison. People from all over go there as they are tops. Right now the only way to stop cancer is with chemo or surgery. There is no miracle food, drug or anything else to stop it. They have made great strides in the last few years alone on getting more patients into remission. After 5 years of remission a patient is believed to be "cured" of that cancer. Chemo is nasty, yes, but it has to be to get rid of that nastier thing called cancer!

flowergirl, or should I say snapdragon? Your words, comments and length of "speach" verifies what others and myself have been trying to tell you.

flowergirl WOW!!! Unfortunately you have had a bad experience with donating money to a good cause before. Have you lost someone to cancer and want to take it out on everyone? The ACS does not promise a cure. They promise to try and find a cure.
TJRockCounty, no you are not alone. Your friends and family are. My husband is only nine months in remission from a very aggressive cancer. He does not talk about it to others. Nor does his brother who had prostate cancer. I think it all depends on the person(s) and their need for attention. They got a lot while fighting it and, sadly, want more :-(

Shouldn't Van Galder pay for the seat belts? After all they do own the busses.

Way to go!!!! I too use coupons when possible and especially when the stores have double coupon days. The double coupons are real sweet when the item is also on sale :-)

On When do you put a good dog down?

My daughter told me about this blog. Trapper looks just like our Teddy who turned 12 in October; he too is a Cairn Terrier! My heart goes out to you and Cheryl, loosing a pet is very difficult. We lost a dog to cancer in July of 2009. The Vet is right, you will know when the time is here. They will give you time (after they have been "put-down") with your family member to say your final good-byes, just stay as long as you like, holding, hugging, crying.....Just remember, Trapper will be going to Rainbow Bridge where all loved pets go running and having a great time, no longer sick or injured, just having a great time waiting for their family to join them in later years. It is evident you enjoyed the time you had with Trapper and he with you! Those memories will last forever :-)
