I am rather disappointed to see that they have a puppy. Do they really need to have the extra expense of a pet? We have to make choices in our family to keep our budget flowing. I understand the hardship of losing the work but are they sacrificing anything???

If a certain collar irritates your dog, find one that doesn't. Think if the Beatys had taken the extra step to find one appropriate for their dog's breed. The police would have been able to catch the dog easier and would have been able to contact the Beaty's right away. We weren't there to see the bump by the city employee. Can't imagine that is a good option but anyone who has an animal knows that a hurt animal cornered will feel cornered and attack to defend itself. Who knows what Magoo was doing at this point. If the cops let the dog run and then Magoo eventually bit someone else who was trying to capture it, we would be in an uproar that the police didn't do anything earlier. Unfortunately, there were too many screw ups by all parties- beatys, police and the city worker. I guess WE will all have to pay for the incident though with our tax money. I am sure several money hungry lawyers have already contacted the Beaty's and they are probably planning their early retirement now.

There has to be give and take. Do the teachers take a cut in insurance benefits or do they allow a school to be closed and lose 5-6 teaching positions.

Passing this law will not stop the stares, disgusted looks or comments from people against breastfeeding in public. All it will do is allow people to sue others when they feel harassed.

So kjane instead of leaving and going to another location to nurse, you stayed and allowed people to treat you this way?? You let your child be scared by 3 security guards so that you could nurse on a bench in front of someone who didn't want you to nurse there. Perhaps you should have confronted this issue with mall management LATER.

Once this law is passed will non breastfeeding moms get one to protect them from those who press judgement against them for their choice???? This law is useless and a waste of the governments time and money.

I saw 3 crashed cars on the northbound, a semi in the ditch and two crashed cars southbound. Deer running across or poor driving in the rain?? I went by before any cops were there. One Northbound car was smashed really bad with about 4 bystanders trying to help the people inside the smashed car. So sad.

Hmmm, my "prep" time means coming to work early and doing some from home. I don't get paid for it but I do it as part of my chosen profession.

gma3- My point is this, my family goes without to make ends meet. A dog is an added expense period. Gift or not, it is a luxury. My family donates about $100 a year to ECHO and even more to the Milton Food Pantry. I have always found it hard to not doubt my donations when I drop off the food and someone else with a brand new car is picking up food because they "need" help. I am all for people who truly hit hard times and situations but people who act foolish with their money shouldn't be constantly assisted through life.
