What really upsets me about the foodstamp program is there are soooo many people out there that keep having children and that do NOT want to work and receive a TON in stamps a month! Then you have someone like me who is divorced and trying to raise 2 children and working 40 hours a week and needs just a little bit of help to get me back on my feet since I had to move and such and I make too money! That is obsured!!!!

SarahB1...I 100% agree with you that having one principal cover both schools is such a bad idea! Let's let go of the theory "do more with less" and this typically is never a good idea and it will be the students who will suffer from this! I think that the school and teachers are going through enough with Scotty Walker in charge....."what you take away from the teachers, you also take away from the students"!

She will be GREATLY missed! My daugher has been going to Van Buren for 2 years now and all of the contact that I have had with Kori has been positive and she is such a pleasant person! She will be missed a TON!!!

I think this would be soooo wrong in many ways! Just because "Galvin said poor students often don't get the summer enrichment activities such as museum visits and trips that other students enjoy." does not mean that ALL families do not go on vacations and such with the children! I think that students deserve that summer vacation off like they have it! I think it is only right! Year round school would just not be right in so many ways!!!

lovemycountry....I have to say that my opinion is that you are wrong! JMO! Yes, we as parents can give them GREAT learning experiences at home BUT so can teachers and teachers aides at this P4J program! For us parents who actually HAVE to work to provide for our families, and sometimes work 2 and 3 jobs to make ends meet it is hard to get all the "quality" time with our children. Did I make the decision to have chilren, yes I did, am I asking for sympathy NOOOOOOO not in any way. I chose my life and love my kids very much and feel that they deserve the best that they can get in education, PERIOD! There really are parents out there that work VERY hard to support their children and do not just sit on their duff and live off of everyone else like some that I know, believe it or not!

the people who are posting that are AGAINST this and the better education for children, make me ill! You should WANT the best education that you can get for your child and look out for THEIR best interest!!! Period! Just my opinion!!!
