Actually, the location, at this point in time, would have been Franklin and Race Streets. On the east side of the river, Race Street became 4th Street.

On Council meeting start time to remain at 7 p.m.

Earlier meetings mean fewer people will be able to make public hearings. Unless you hadn't noticed most people who have jobs work 1st shift. There are not many 2nd and 3rd shift jobs left. The council can make the meeting better, a/k/a shorter by being better prepared, don't talk so much just to hear yourself talk, and either get rid of the "Briarmoon" crazy talk time or put her at the very end of the meeting, so the rest of us can just turn off when she comes on.

On Was council right to reject bar proposal?

Posted on October 14 at 6:09 p.m. ( Suggest removal )

At the council meeting, at least one councilmembeer stated the police department didn't have any concerns about this application. This is incorrect. The ALAC application includes comments that the police department has concerns about a bar being located so close to a residential area. The council was right in denying this and it is wrong to bring it back again just to try and get it through. It failed, move on.

On Plastic bag ban for Janesville?

"Committee Chairman Tom McDonald says his colleagues on the City Council have informally discussed the matter." When was this discussed? Was it an open meeting? Or was it illegally done behind closed doors? I don't recall this being on an agenda.
