1. Know your neighbors and be on the lookout for them.
2. Don't announce on Facebook that you are going on a vacation. You can talk about it when you return. ( I see people doing this all the time plus they have pictures of their home. Dumb!)
3. Dont keep purse near your door. Makes it very easy for someone to just open the door and swipe it very quickly.
4. Daylight is not always a deterrent for thieves. Keep doors locked during the day too.

Wow! I realize this may be a sensitive subject for some but I didn't think Ms. Parsley was comparing diabetes in a cat to diabetes in children. It sounded to me like she just realized that dealing with a cat is difficult, therefore, dealing with a child or even an adult with food restrictions would be even more difficult.
On Mercy accused of negligence in death

Mercy is not perfect, but no hospital is! I dont know details about this case... but suing is not going to bring your loved one back. It will, however, help increase health care costs. No one wants to pay the high price of health care but people are so easily willing to take legal action when the people who are trying to help them are unable to. I hope this family has considered the facts and have given themselves some time to heal so they are not letting thier emotions run wild looking for someone to blame. I don't believe that the majority of people have terrible experiences with Mercy. The terrible experiences are just the ones you hear about. For those of you who think all your problems will be solved when the Dean Hospital opens - you will eventually find the grass is not always greener on the other side.
On Ex-track coach stands mute to sexual assault charge

I agree with johndenver. 40 years is excessive. He should be fired and not allowed to teach/coach. 15 year old girls are not as innocent as you think. To say he "seduced" her sounds like and assumption. It very well could have been the other way around. Sneaking into her room was a very poor choice. Sounds like he was the one thinking like a 15 year old. I thought I read in a previous article that they didn't have sex but did engage in "sexual conduct". Am I wrong?

Am I the only one who has heard that you are not supposed to bring a dog's toy(s) to an off-leash park? I heard that dogs can become possesive and it can cause avoidable dog fights. I was at the park today and a lot of people had frisbees and balls for thier dogs. There were no problems that I saw. I was just wondering if anyone else had heard this. Is it listed on the sign that states the rules at the park???

I never understood schools expeling kids from school. If anything make them go to school more often. Make them go in early before school starts and Make them stay late after school is over.

Don't be so quick to jump to conclusions. Even though some procedures are labeled "minor" does not mean they are without risk. We don't know this man's medical history. Maybe this procedure is "minor" for most but for him it could have been very risky. Don't be so quick to blame Mercy. Many people are so quick to judge this system because they have had a bad experience or have heard of someone who had a bad experience. The way I look at it is that if you are at the hospital, chances are good that you are having a bad experience anyway and nothing any one does will make you forget about your "bad" experience. Treatments even when successful are not always a very pleasant experience. Im am so sorry to hear about this man's death. My condolences to his family, friends, and students. Please remember that people who treated him may have all that they could and should not be bashed like this.
