to pautsch 17, but closing footville is not the answer all the kids would not fit in orfordville and newark.
so it was the really only choice the board had

we are thinking of the kids. the voters turned down the referendum. before that they turned down the funding referendum. we can not continue to keep all of these building open and continue to pay the bills.

maybe rather than spend the money on hwy 11 bypass maybe they could just fix some of the other roads in the state. there are some that could use some repair.

i also agree we have some of the best teachers around. i would put them up against any teachers from any other school. sure there are student that have left our school to get away but there are also kids that have left and come back to parkview because the grass is not always greener on the other side of the street.
the time never seems to be the right time to pass a building referendum when times were good they didnt like the new design for one reason or another. now times are tough and it is not the right time. our building are old and something needs to get done.

open enrollment is not all why the class sizes have dropped over the last 20 years. Parkview is still in the middle of farm country and alot of the farms now sit idel and they the farmers are not having the big families any more. most families today are 1 or 2 kids not the 6 and 7 that were very common 20 years ago.

WHAT..merge with Brodhead, that is not even an option. have you ever left the big town and went to a smaller school? we do a great job of educating the kids over there. just because your school system only has one elementary school does not make it a bad school.
talk about things you know something about.

get out to the informational meeting, know the issues, just dont sit at home and talk about things that are not true.
know the facts .. but get out and VOTE..

we dont want anybody to leave the school system but some of the Newark people said that if you close our school they will leave and it didnt matter if they consolidate or not if you close Newark they will leave and thats a promise.
so i dont know what they want from the school system. they CAN NOT keep 3 grade schools open and have business as normal. that is a fact. the last referendum was asked to give more to keep going businees like it had been before. and asked for money to repair building. both were turned down. the roof at the high school leaked and had to be replaced, had to be done, so it was fixed. the board was then was questioned for fixing the roof after the voters said no. it had to be done.
changes have to be made.
the time is right for change..

this is to the newark parents that are thinking of pulling your kids out of school at Parkview. did you ever go to school in Parkview? there are great teachers in the high school and jr high school. they are not only as you say in Newark... emotion is talking right now. just remember we have a very good school system with a lot of very good teachers. just remember a building does not make a school system, it is the people in it. and we have alot of great people in the whole school.
