Too bad an innocent man spent decades in prison for one of these seven murders.

I depends. Are they adjudicated battery because they got into a pushing fight with another kid? Is it a burglary, because they took a gas can full of gas from the neighbor's garage to put in thier mophead? Both real crimes charged and adjudicated delinquent. Lock them up to show them the rules isn't always the best solution. The problem is it is cheaper than actually funding intervention programs, that work for some but not all kids. So we just decided to incarcerate all of them, now we found that is both expensive and not effective. So now, we are trying to do other things that will work for some kids, but not all kids, and are trying to send all the kids to the diversion because it's too expensive to do both.

So the probation officers are angry because someone above them doesn't agree with thier "professional opinion"? My "professional opinion" they need to realize they are not always going to get what they want. Lock the kids up for safety issues only, not because they skipped third and forth period class and we want to "teach them a lesson".

I hope things work out well for him. This officer has a calm and considerate demeanor and is ordinarily very hard to rattle. Divorcing spouses are usually at thier worst behavior and loud arguments wouldn't be uncommon. DC means no physical violence took place. The fact a third party was involved to me indicates that he was trying to avoid any escalation with the spouse, but had the need to get something from the house.

Spark, you say you have a lot of friends who are cops. Fine, you should recognize that your opinion of police is affected by your friendship. I can guarantee I have read more police reports from more police than you could ever hope to know. Pulling over a car for a minor violation is often just a reason to get the car off the road, question the driver, ask to search the car, search the people in the car and thier possessions. The people pulled over, questioned and searched are proportionally more frequently minorities than white. When a minority is pulled over, quesitioned, searched, and detained while the officer searches the car it is embarassing and humiliating even for individuals who are completely innocent. So your opinion may be that police are "doing this for our safety". It is not a fact. The opinion that police will use this to "harass minorities" is just as valid.

Pulling over for seatbelt violations will just become the pretend reason officers use to stop people they want to hassle.

I would disagree. Having read all of your posts, it is clear all you really want to do is bash Doyle. Must be nice to be able to lay every problem at the same doorstep. Clearly, Doyle must be responsible for the poor economy in Wisconsin, because business is booming in all other states. Couldn't be that your hero Bush had something to do with wrecking the economy for everyone?

okie, you shouldn't speak unless you have some actual knowledge. Let's see, where would that evidence be kept, how about sealed in the police department evidence lockers. That's why it could still be tested after all this time. The "eyewitness" later after looking at the photo of the DNA match of the actual rapist agreed that he was the man who raped her. She, the victim and only eyewitness, testified to the legislator that the methods of showing photos to victims should be changed to prevent mistaken identifications like hers. As for the jury, when the jury doesn't get the right information they make a decision based on incorrect facts. But thanks for the complement about people like me preventing the death penalty. Not only does it cost more than lifetime imprisonment, but after you have killed the person wrongly convicted it is impossible to correct. At at last count, over 260 people have been determined wrongly convicted. But perhaps, karma will work for okie and you will be wrongly accused of a crime in the near future.
