On Bus drops kindergartner miles from home

To the parents of Gracie,
We went through a very similar situation 2 years ago, in Edgerton where we live. On the seond day of school, our 7 year old, was dropped off 2 miles from our home. She was found unharmed walking along highway 59, near I-90, by a man driving by. Our daughter was afraid for the first few week, but after a while she became braver. When we made people aware in our community of what happened, we never put sole blame on the school, or bus, we realized that our daughter was partially at fault. However at the time she was 7 years old, and could not be expected to make adult decisions. We went through much of the same things you are going through. We had numerous people who supported us 100%, then there were others who blamed us as parents. I am not sure what we could have done diffrent, other then put her on the bus after school, and follow the bus to our home. I am glad that Gracie was found safe and unharmed. The good thing is kids are very resilient.

In response to Wonders comments, how dare you question wether I am of questionable moral character. Not everyone knows me, but they may know my name. People are small minded and we live in a guilty first society. I do not want to people to mistake my name with the person who was arrested. For example when I am appling for a job etc, where they may not know me, but they will associate my name, with hers. Janesville still has a small town mentality.

I am glad that you used the girls pictures, age, and address. I share the same name as one of the girls charged, I am a mother, a wife, and member of the community which I live in. To have people believe that I could be the person arrested is awfull. By showing the girls pictures it was clear that it I was not the person arrested.
