I personally thank you for bringing attention to the story - look at how often this happens, I dont' think people realize this is as common of a problem! I don't have children, but neices and nephews in school, and you just assume that the school and bus officials are doing their part to keep your children safe, when apparently there's plenty of room for improvement. You can't fix what's not broken; you can't imrove a situation if you don't know it's faulty.

Agreed - A lot of questions here... SO, they didn't initially find the body until July of 2003. Ok, so then why did divers come up MORE than 2 years later?? And then I wonder what took another 3 years to arrest the ex-husband!

Kinda had to shake my head a little that the article points out "the body was held down by a weight and chain. Her hands were bound." but the think it might have been homicide... Really! Seems a little obvious to me - that's definitely not an accident!

Right, so it may be more common or even "accepted" in other cultures - but why should they NOT be helped out, whether they are "legal citizens" or not?? Seems to me, those kids don't have a say in whether they are here in the US, legal or not, and no matter what country OR culture they are from, they just lost their parents - possibly even witnessed! And yes, there are a lot of people everywhere that need help, but I personally don't see a single reason to deny these children of help (which is what it sounded like Optimism's point was), regardless of the position their parents put them in.

Maybe I don't understand the whole story, but to ME it's the TEAM that makes the win, not just the QB. While very crucial to a team, a QB can't win a game without a good enough team to back him up. Brett might have a good arm, but that's no good if nobody's there to catch the ball.

I don't think Brett got the shaft - I think he made a decision last spring that he was done playing. That was a decision that involves more than just him. I'm glad the Packers wouldn't take him back, especially wanting to come back last minute and AFTER dispelling rumors all summer that he wanted to come back.

Hm... the thing that confuses me is that some poor kid suffocates in the middle of a cemetery and nobody suspects foul play!? ...am I missing something there...? I'm sorry for the loss of friends and family, I hope this gets solved!
