if your child needs to learn Chinese send them to a private language school after regular school hours, let the parents pay for it, not the community

GM is gone people, money would be better spent finding new ventures to fill the space and putting GM in our past. My family bought a GM built SUV this last week, our last hurrah to the era that has been the bread and butter for this city. P.S. it gets better gas mileage than my V8 car did!!!!

My kids seem to grow out of everything over the summer. They cant reuse a backpack because nothing seems to be made to last anymore. We spend around $400 getting the kids ready but that also includes their school fees, parking passes and such. The tennis shoes alone will break you budget.

There is no way in heck I would take my son down to the old batting cage location for a skate park. The neighborhood is bad and likely to get worse with all that is going on in this city now and in the near future. Put the park in a park, I dont care what side of town it is on but let it be somewhere you can take one child and still have something for a sibling to enjoy. It may keep parents around to supervise the kids they have there if there is something to do with the other kids in the family.

The healing needs to start now. This community needs to pull together no matter where you work or did work. The trickle down effect will have an enormous impact on all of us. Some businesses are already seeing the effect of people pinching pennies getting ready for the fallout in addition to the gas prices already gouging our paychecks. Help each other out. Work together. Lend a hand and quit being negative. The self centered griping is infuriating. Who cares what benefits someone else is getting, good for them, one less family that has to worry themselves into ulcers for a while. New businesses will not be attracted to a negative community. If we get this right Janesville will come out on top. Lets start healing and being positive right now. Lets get it right

On Behavior ruins fun for kids

My child has played in everything from mighty mights with the Y, Little League, JYF, middle and high school sports and by far the the classiest team he has played for is the Janesville Lacrosse Club, I believe it all comes from the coaching. Parents and players take their cues from the coaches on just how far they can go. There are exceptions to every rule but this is how I feel.
