Something tells me even if Corvina's had no issues involving the police, you would still feel the same way. Has anyone ever heard of bigotry and racism? These kinds of comments give Janesville a black eye. If you're not embarrassed you should be.

Gillette previously owned Parker Pen, Waterman, and PaperMate. They sold all to Newell Rubbermaid around 2000. The balance of Gillette is now owned by PG. Show us where you researched the other brands you mention.

lulutwo, I understand your loyalty to those that lost their jobs as I also want to be very respectful to those who lost their jobs. Sanford has been working with India for years. That is not new. When sales decline, so will the number of positions in those departments. Everyone has their own opinions based on emotions, but he facts are the facts.

lulutwo, I am not defending Newell, however, most of the Sanford people that have been let go to date was not due to Sanford closing, they were laid off due to the downward spiral of sales in Janesville.

Jatr, Sanford is owned by Newell Rubbermaid. Gillette, Westbend, Coucellor, Rogers are not brands affiliated with Newell that I am aware of. Let's get the facts correct so these innocent brands are not trashed through this. If anyone wants to see which brands they own - google Newell Rubbermaid.

Everyone should be glad they have jobs. We were told Friday our facility is possibly moving to Mexico. The move will be complete by March 2010. Another 140 or so people without jobs in Janesville.

HistoryBuff, do you seriously believe that the success or failure of this festival lays on ONE persons shoulders? Guess again. It takes a team - and if you really are a 'history buff' you would know that about the RCHS. I wish The Gazette would disable this function of their site. Too many people feel free to bash an individual while hiding behind their user name.
