runrabbitrun: there was a reason for her name not being released...it really wasn't your place to do so. I'm sure her family doesn't appreciate it either.

Wow...I just got online and saw this. Art was a joy to work with and was always respectful of the dispatchers at Rock County 911. My prayers are with his family. Rock County lost one of it's finest.

This is a tragedy for the family. In reality, a restraining order isn't worth the paper it's printed on. It wouldn't have prevented this. He would've found a way around it. IMHO, the only thing she could've possibly done to escape this would've been to leave and hide with family members or a domestic violence shelter. So sad.

I am truly sad - my eyes are still sore too! Brett is definitely a hero among men. My dad grew up in Pulaski (near GB) and even though we lived in Illinois for many years was a Packer fan all his life. Sadly he died the summer of 1992 so missed these legendary years. Dad would be so proud!

Blah blah blah. Once again, officers get slammed by the public. Do you think they waste their time looking for people just to hassle them? If you're breaking the law folks than Officer Justice is just doing his job. The fine officers of Milton, and other communities, never get a pat on the back, just a knife in the back.

Stories like this disgust me. How can anyone get away with shooting a beloved pet? I feel charges should be filed and if I were the owner of the dog I'd be all over a civil suit.
