On Community leaders honored tonight at Hall of Honor

Posted on June 19 at 6:36 a.m. ( Suggest removal )

Congratulations to Wayne Flury. I worked under him in the Brodhead school and he was top notch. He carried a sense of wisdom and ability to handle difficult situations that eased tensions. He also gave the staff freedom to develop their own talents within the curriculum boundaries. His knowledge of the community in which he served helped him to be an effective principal. An honor much deserved.

Jeff Roethe has been our family's attorney for at least 25 years. He's always been professional and knowledgeable. We rely on him for sound advice and we will continue to do so. He has never done anything to cause us to doubt him. She must have been a doozy!

On Brodhead school referendum fails

I think this vote reflects community dissatisfaction with the administration and Board in general. This referendum would probably have passed with a different person leading the charge. Changes need to be made at the top and the people of Brodhead will vote in the affirmative. Brodhead loves their children.

Don't let them scare you. They will never cut the football team. It is a sports town. They are top heavy in the administration and they have been for many years. A good executive secretary could do a lot of the work that they're paying administrators to do.

It's a great fair this year. I was especially glad to see the little ducks back sliding down a ramp. That was an annual attraction for my kids.

On Wind power generating controversy

I wrote two specific questions at the end of my post. Can you answer them?

On Wind power generating controversy

Isn't it interesting that the same responders appear when an anti-wind turbine article appears? You frequently state how balanced the articles are when you agree. But just let a pro-wind article appear and you're all over it. Are you all related or are you all on the Union/Magnolia Township Study Committees?

I wish the Gazette would write more favorable articles. So much is theory and not proven. Just because something is on the internet doesn't mean it's true.

Why do other states have successful wind turbine farms? Why was there no opposition to the new one northwest of Madison?

Matt, Do you have a suggestion to offer? Are you in need of attention? I've noticed your willingness to offer puff balls but no solutions. You have plenty of time to bloviate but not to offer any substance.

On Wind energy increasing in Wisconsin

I'm trying to follow this discussion. How do you decide which experts to believe? Do the naysayers really have a valid reason to oppose or do they just not like the appearance of the windmills? On the other hand, is there any provable energy benefit if they are built? Does anyone's bill decrease or does the use of fossil fuels decrease?
