On New law imposes jobless benefits wait
Posted on January 3 at 10:26 a.m. ( Suggest removal )
they had another article about this before - there is only one 1 week waiting period per unemployment year - if you get laid off this week and file for unemployment - you have to wait 1 week before payments start - then if you work for 2 months and get laid off again you will get unemployment that first week you are laid off - you dont wait for a week again before payments start

"overpaid" government workers (some do need more money), more police/firefighters (or balance it out with what they have like parttimers going fulltime so overtime goes away, welfare - limit number of kids/dollar amount - after like 2 kids or $350 (or whatever amount) if more kids amount goes down - after so long if not working fulltime (or going from unemployed to parttime) amount goes down - lots of other things also to many to list
On AirTran pilot suspected of drinking, arrested
Posted on May 16 at 2:53 p.m. ( Suggest removal )
unless they changed things, driving semis, bus etc that takes a CDL - they allow .04, but of course they prefer zero espically when driving semi, etc - they can lose their driving privliges even driving in a car - so it makes sense the same for pilots because of the greater chance of injury, death, property damage to more people or property when pilot or semi drivers if they have been drinking
On Analysis shows Walker would raise taxes on poor

a tax increase for the poor - but overall taxes going down? at the rate we are going is that uncle sam will take all of the "POOR"'s paycheck (or whatever money they receive) and give it to the rich (and give the poor an allowance for certain things - as well as food stamps, rent assistance, etc) - just look at gas prices
On Whose responsibility is motorcycle safety?
Posted on April 15 at 9:02 p.m. ( Suggest removal )
i havent driven a motorcycle but believe everyone is suppose to be aware of everyone else but cyclists have to be aware more for themselves - just like cars are suppose to be aware for themselves - as for helmets i agree that they should be mandtory (just like seatbelts) and get tickets if not wearing them (just like seatbelts) - no matter what type of vechile you are driving you have to turn your head to be able to see everything around you (try driving a car without turning your head - you wont be able to see everything) when driving a car you need to turn your head when changing lanes to make sure you have room - also need to check mirrors etc - so when driving cycles with helmets - turn head, check mirrors etc (not commenting on hearing since havent been on a cycle - but assume if you get a correct helmet you should be able to hear)

On Comments eliminated on some types of stories

my 2 cents worth is that if possible - track the IP addresses of the posters - maybe limit the number of posts within a given time frame (like 5 comments per day or whatever) from that IP address - allow other posters or readers to suggest removal and give them of different reasons why want to remove - if a poster gets too many suggest removals within a given time frame then block that IP address from posting comments for a period of time (or if the poster/IP address post gets removed by the staff before others suggest removal) - if gazette staff/time allow have someone monitor posts and have a time delay from when posters make a comment and the time its visiable (meaning like someone makes a comment at 9:05 pm, staff reviews it, then it gets visiable at 9:15 pm or whatever - so the poor tasting comments are reviewed before it is visiable)
On Milton middle school student expelled

expelled until age 21 - but can re-enter school year 2010-2011? doesnt make sense - partly because school year is over and wont "punish" the student for whatever the reason is if they can return right away
On Officials investigating fire on city's west side

it doesnt say it was insured for $300,000 - just that damage was around $300,000 and may be considered a total loss - they consider a total loss when it would cost more to repair then it is worth - we all know that housing prices have gone done in recent times - that may be why the lowered the asking price from $400 plus thousand - thank god no one was home/injured

On Should donors reveal employers?
Posted on January 26 at 8:48 p.m. ( Suggest removal )
dont get me going on this - i feel that no companies should be allowed to "donate" money to any canidate - on the tax forms there is a place to "donate" to politically fund - the people running should get "equal" amounts from that fund (on a monthly/weekly basis) and only be allowed to use so much of their own money (if at all) - if i want to donate to a person running let it be with little or no restriction
put limits on how long campaigning can be - like instead of like 2 years only allow like 6 months - the elected offical has a job to do (that being whatever the office they hold - not running across the country for 2 years to get re-elected)
ban all negative ads - no mud-slinging - the people running should only be allowed to state what they plan on doing for the office they want to run for - if their is mud-slinging ban those ads right away and cut off their funding - and if push comes to shove take them off the ballot
