Well this school board has forced another great person to leave/retire from this mess of a district. Congrats to Dr. Kuehne on his retirement. He will be sorely missed but he is smart to get out now.

Where we hunt in Lafayette Co. they are everywhere. I have heard packs of 10-20 at night on the farms over there. They have killed calves, colts, pigs, you name it they kill it. I live in Janesville and have had them chase rabbits out of the wooded greenbelt area behind our house right up to the deck where the rabbits ran under. The guys I know have the most success hunting them with dogs. They have got rid of over 100 of them this winter alone back where I hunt in Lafayette Co. Get rid of them all!!! Let the hunting bashers begin!!! I love it!!!!

Very well put bballan. I guess the illegal "get togethers or shoot-arounds" that every other person would call a practice held again at the Athletic club on both snow days paid off again for Parker. Everyone knows it goes on but Mr. Porter won't do anything about it again this year. Oh well, win at all costs.

The end of the year budget #'s are filtering in. "Yet again, the District is taking a premium holiday for May and June this year which involves 4 payrolls. The premium amount generated per payroll is roughly $595,000 so the savings will total approximately $2,380,000. The administrators, support staff and custodians also are having a premium holiday right now." This has become an annual gift from the JEA to the SDJ.
Tonight's school board meeting will reveal a $31 million reserve fund balance. This is $7 million more than the projected ending balance and conservatively $10 million more than what DPI recommends. In the past year, the SDJ cried poverty to institute teacher premium sharing, cut programs & staff, and raise fees--yet the fund is growing at an unprecedented pace.

Coach K says it would be nice to mix it up a bit because they keep losing to Verona! Now that there is actually competition in this sectional he wants Verona put in a different one so Parker can get back to state. How about just beating them and quit whining about it. Congrats Verona and Milton on a great year.
