On District: Expulsions are on the decline

Posted on May 29 at 8:59 a.m. ( Suggest removal )

Ask any teacher in this district about how they feel about the expulsion rate. Should be 10X what actually gets expelled. Students can get away with just about anything and then get 2 or 3 more chances before they finally get booted. Teachers are tired of dealing with the students that are in school to only disrupt the learning environment. They don't care about their grades so they try to make it hell for everyone else. The district is afraid to have expulsions too high because they will look bad in the paper. Teachers and students who care are the ones suffering. It just gets old. Again I beg you to ask a high school or middle school teacher their views on this LOW expulsion rate.

On Janesville high school class sizes to increase

For those of you who have not heard what the Great Dr. Earhardt has done to the high school curriculum, here is a rundown. Next year no health classes will be offered at the high schools, two years freshman physical science classes are cut. Social Studies will be cut greatly. This is just a start of what he calls a better plan for students. What a joke. The high schools are going down hill thanks to the school board and Dr. Earhardt. Ask them about it because they won't announce these changes to the public for fear of losing students. Get out now!

What a joke this board is. Sodeman you are really something. Dr. Earhardt downtown you are also worthless. Changing the whole curriculum and also raising class sizes. Wow. So glad we school choiced to Milton this year.

On Janesville School Board faces stark choices

10% is not a total property tax increase it is just the schools portion of your bill not the city, county etc. I have three kids about to start school. Milton district now but were thinking of school choicing to Janesville. Wow not now. Can't imagine having kids in elementary schools with the class sizes they will be and sharing principals. School board screwed this up by not taxing in years past.

On Janesville School District estimating $10 million shortfall

Why is there nothing in the paper about the two people downtown who stated they need to have "Director" in front of their name and then justified each of themselves getting $30,000 raises just recently. Public should know about this one.

On Verona again ends Parker season

Posted on March 22 at 9:06 a.m. ( Suggest removal )

Coach K says it would be nice to mix it up a bit because they keep losing to Verona! Now that there is actually competition in this sectional he wants Verona put in a different one so Parker can get back to state. How about just beating them and quit whining about it. Congrats Verona and Milton on a great year.

Well this school board has forced another great person to leave/retire from this mess of a district. Congrats to Dr. Kuehne on his retirement. He will be sorely missed but he is smart to get out now.

On Coyotes abundant, troublesome in Rock County

Where we hunt in Lafayette Co. they are everywhere. I have heard packs of 10-20 at night on the farms over there. They have killed calves, colts, pigs, you name it they kill it. I live in Janesville and have had them chase rabbits out of the wooded greenbelt area behind our house right up to the deck where the rabbits ran under. The guys I know have the most success hunting them with dogs. They have got rid of over 100 of them this winter alone back where I hunt in Lafayette Co. Get rid of them all!!! Let the hunting bashers begin!!! I love it!!!!
