On Assembly passes ultrasound bill

Posted on June 13 at 11:54 p.m. ( Suggest removal )

Then they can send in pregnant women just to see if the ultrasound is done and the tech does their "job" to point out all the organs and features. If not, then busted!!! How much shall we make that fine...or will jail time be suffice?

On Some Madison workers get thousands in overtime pay

Posted on May 28 at 8:54 a.m. ( Suggest removal )

In most cases, it's cheaper to pay OT than it is to hire another body to do the job because they dont' have to pay any benefits or UC when they have to let the person go during down times. Earning more OT means more taxes into the government. You can only earn so much OT and then your just working to pay the taxes with very little benefit to your own income.

Whoever said "all property owners can afford a lawn service or do it yourself"....is wrong. Not only can't afford a lawn service, but can't afford to purchase the expensive weed killers.

On An inside look at new Rock Haven

Posted on May 18 at 4:31 a.m. ( Suggest removal )

Apparently Rock County toured Dane County's facility and modeled much of the design after us. Just like Rock County, Dane county had several delays to the finish & move in (literally three years). Much was because of design issues that resulted when trying to meet state code. This then resulted in significant cost overruns. But hey....it's not over yet! Our first year in the facility and we discovered that because of the state code requirements and the "green" design of our building, improper construction left us with water pouring in the basement. Had to dig out the foundation all around to shore it up. With being so sprawled out...as a worker, it's not efficient. We are still discovering problems along the way and probably will for years. But from a living standpoint..it's a beautiful concept and provides our residents with a home and family type lifestyle that has really impacted their psyche in a positive way! Our old building was far worse than Rock counties old facility! Unlike Rock county though, Dane county took nothing from the old building. Started with new everything. Finally, Dane counties goal was to eventually attract private pay in hopes of selling to a private for profit organization and thus get out of the nursing home business. So far, that concept is not working out.

On BTC instructor says he acted correctly when he removed student

Posted on May 17 at 5:07 p.m. ( Suggest removal )

Wow...this is college people, not high school! I don't blame the teacher one bit for doing what he did, unfortunately, he did not follow the policy and procedure to handle such a situation. Laying hands on anyone should not be necessary in a college classroom. I hope the teacher does not lose his job and next time follows the correct procedure. As for the young man, admit your childish..apologize and shake hands with the teacher and then request that the board to not take any further action against the teacher. And lastly, teacher do not touch your students.
