On Menards mini-storage units are a no-go

Unless there is a zoning issue, I fail to see why the City Counsel has the right to make ridiculous statements like this.
I makes about as much sense as when this building was built...... the Planning Committee tried to mandate what type of trees had to be planted in the green areas, as they did on most all new projects..
Time to get real here...This has a good possibility of bringing in additional business to McDonald's, Farm & Fleet, and many other businesses close by...
This is a shame...and not forward thinking at all in my opinion...
And I would bet that if this was an out of town company coming in to build a storage area there (if if were vacant land) it would be a different story..

Just curious,
Was this the same area that had poles go over about a year ago in a bad storm ??
I know it is marshy there, and that would make sense...

"I'm curious what role you think building inspectors play in reducing crime."
Good point...
I am referring to the constant waste of public money on stupid stuff like this (as in the paperwork etc. as well as the recording and so on...
That money could well be spent on crime, etc...
You may think that is minimal...I don't...

The concept is OK.
The rates are not.
That is just ridiculous to only save a few bucks for not using any water....
And I agree, based on this, just let it drip....as there certainly is no real encouragement to save on the water with this deal.
And if you choose to have your water shut completely off while gone, I believe there is also an extra charge to shut it off, as well as turn it back on...
And as far as the house catching fire comment, I was not aware that there was no extra charge for the water used in a fire...can anyone confirm that?

Yes, a great story indeed. We need more coverage on positive growth in our area, regardless of size.
And just constructive criticism, but why is this not on the front page, and/or featured ?
