On Considering the RECALL ELECTION - Warning of "termites"!

Lots of interesting comments here to a dumb column.
I think the Termite comparison is a good one and certainly describes a lot of our local problems...But Barrett ain't no angel either, nor was that previous moron we had in as our Governor..
What upsets me is all the attention this stuff gets (and well deserved) but the real problem is not the Termites...it is the house that is above them that is on FIRE !
And the house I mean is the House of Representatives as well as the Senate...the whole congress is burning down our houses, and we best put that fire out, or the Termites will be the least of our problems...What is this bunch of vastly bunch of criminals public approval now ?? ~9-12% ??? And why aren't you printing more article on that problem...and don't give me that local news crap...this is affecting every one of us LOCAL readers.
Just Saying......
On Barrett goes after Walker in Wis. recall debate
Posted on May 26 at 10:50 a.m. ( Suggest removal )
I thought it was an OK debate.
Not letting the debaters give a short response to counter any attacks by the other on a specific question left it more like just reading statements instead of a debate.
Barrett did a good job of consistently attacking Walker, and kept hammering his points.
However, IMO he never gave any real answers to what he would do except go back two years in time.....which is not a good enough answer to give him a real confidence vote...
This recall election is not like a general election. The recall has already clearly indicated that there are a whole lot of people clearly upset with Walker. This is a fact.
Now is the time to come up with something better (for those of those that are upset).
Unfortunately, I didn't see that in Barrett last night.
I will continue to support Walker, as I have thru all this.

And how is this different than any of the Blasphemes flyers, posters signs and commercials attacking Scott Walker.

So Greg do you think that all of the above is shamefull?"
TOTALLY AGREE...
Also this weekend my Wife's (9) year old Great Niece spent some time with us, and was telling us in great detail about the lies and terrible things that Walker has done, and why he needs to be recalled....the words she was using and the mannerism's were quite adult in nature, so I asked her where she learned all this ??? (I was assuming from her Parents)
NOPE....From her TEACHERS AT SCHOOL ....
So let's not get too carried away about some radicals slipping flyers into your precious paper boxes, or on cars....no one is perfect in this hate match...

Paul Ryan is a perfect example of a young man that started out with our best interests in mind, but soon lost track of it all, and now is just a plain Ol' Politician....Pathetic....
No thanks Paul....you sold us seniors out and we won't forget that...

"Some unions that were at the forefront of the recall effort have provided only limited help for Barrett, who defeated Democratic candidates who were favored by labor. Unions that spent nearly $11 million on state Senate recalls last year have yet to air an ad on behalf of Barrett."
Hmmm.....Interesting...
Also interesting to see:
"Turnout should be high. A poll released last week by Marquette University Law School poll found that 91 percent of Republicans said they were "absolutely certain" to vote, compared with 83 percent of Democrats and independents."
Where are all the affected anti Walker folks we used to see on TV that were going to loose their homes, cars, and everything else ????
Why aren't they on TV adds showing what they lost ???
Hopefully when this is over we can just get on with business......but I doubt it.....I can hear the excuses already...$$$ were the problem...People didn't get out to vote.....or what I have heard already from some anti Walker folks.."I am so mad I am not even going to vote"....Oh yah, that is a real good one..

I have posted on this many times, and anyone who follows these blogs knows who will get my vote...
However, I encourage EVERYONE to get out and vote...regardless of who you vote for or your political affiliation....
That is the time to actually do something instead of spewing the hatred shown way too much on here. As I tell my friends or others I talk to...If you didn't vote, shut up...you have no right to bitch....
Good luck to both candidates...

OMGod...ever since the Wisconsin CCW law passed I am petrified to walk thru any area of Janesville after dark.
All the Cowboy shoot outs, drunks firing guns in the streets, road rage shootings, and just plain macho thugs roaming around...I am like a prisoner in my own house after dark...Thank God I can duck into a store that has a No Handgun sign on the front door and feel safe...!!!
What is this City coming to ?????
OH WAIT ....that is what all the Anti Gun folks were spewing on all these forums when the debates were flying about CCW...
Geesh, I am still alive, and not in the Wild Wild West....
Is there a lesson here folks ????
As to feeling safe in Janesville...YES...
And for the slow ones....the first part of my post was SARCASM directed at the anti gun folks.... Rolling Eyes......

Good move.....slum lords are pathetic...
IMO after suitable notifications, the law should read that all rents would be paid to the local homeless shelters until the infractions are corrected.

On Recall Election – 1 week from today and counting!
Posted on May 29 at 8:38 a.m. ( Suggest removal )
Instead of whining about the "Who is backing who... and why" things, why aren't you writing about the things at stake....our future in Wisconsin...I don't see any suggestions on how to correct all the "Alleged" wrongs...just the same old stuff that was the reason for the recall in the first place...
I also find in interesting that "Big Labor" seems to be backing off on their financial support for Barrett....Interesting...like maybe cutting their losses...
Hopefully after the election next Tuesday the Gazette can write some positive things about the winner (Either Walker of Barrett) and support them in the future, for all of us.
