On 24-term coroner seeking re-election

Posted on June 2 at 1:31 p.m. ( Suggest removal )

Mr. Griebel is top notch!! He shows up to EVERY scene wearing a suit and tie not matter if it's in the middle of the night or on Christmas Day. He is one of the most compassionate people I know. The families of people who have lost love ones know what a caring and thorough gentleman & professional he is. Noone is without some blemishes...not even you Fasteddie & Mikey!!

On Police dog’s bite raises questions about K9 program

Is that true or a misprint of information? The Chief of Police is the Handler? I also question how much that dog will be available on evenings and weekends? Other than that dogs are a very useful tool to law enforcement and they help locate offenders in situation that put the officers at less of a risk. I say "suspend Ash with pay" pending the outcome of the investigation.

On Municipal judge resigns in Delavan

I think Leroy is pretty upstanding. I admit I don't have all the facts....I know Henry Johnson was not exactly a steller employee in his past life if anyone knew him. Leroy probably resigned because Henry was not doing his job and that reflected bad upon Leroy. Politics suck. This does not suprise me at all. Another fine job here Henry!! Employers beware...Henry comes w/ baggage!!

On Complaint filed after police shoot pet

"If" the media is correct and Hawley could have picked up the dog the police certainly should have called him to do just that. After all...they were chasing it around for an hour they probably had time to check records and make the call. If the dog survived a week already he probably would have survived on the bridge and probably would not have even gone on the bridge if he were not being "chased" by the cops. We (Govt) has to worry less about liability and let nature take its course. If the dog gets hit...it was meant to be....but did he need to be shot? If the dog is vicious I say "take him out" by whatever means. If they were trying to snare it and taser it I question the viciousness of the dog.

On Deputy accused of sex assault resigns post

IF he is guilty I hope the public remembers that there are a small percentage of cops who insist on behaving this way as there are Teachers, Priests, Politicians and all human beings. This person, if guilty, is a disgrace to those officers who do there jobs properly, efficiently, and with respect for their badge and citizen they serve. Don't let your guard down....your neighbor could be the next one on the "hot seat"!!.

God for Bid...I'm sure no-one ever "wants" to file Bankrupsy (I can't even spell it)...but I will say I have a neighbor who has filed bankrupsy two times since I have known them. In the interim they purchased two motorhomes and other very expensive items...now they are filing again.....Who's gonna pay for it? You and I!! Who's NOT gonna loose?..THE BANKS!! They'll pass the cost on to us. Great system we have here in the US of A.

Ya Dumblebee...you ARE clueless. Steve is a good cop and cares a lot about his job and people. Most people, and probably Steve too, have "some" moral issues. This does not take away from the care that he showed the Village of Darien residents by his service & dedication not only as a Patrolman but as Chief over many years. The Village, unfortunately, has deeper pockets than does Steve. I hope the taxpayers in Darien are happy with the "fantastic four". Didn't Darien not to long ago mismanage some investments too that cost the taxpayers in Darien some significant increase in taxes? Way to go Village Board...another job well done!! (fantastic four) I'm sure glad I don't live there!! Voters Revolt!!
