On One dead in Beloit shooting

Let's put the blame where it belongs. "These people" are on the streets not because the Beloit Police Dept fails to put "them" there, but because the District Attorney's Office fails to prosecute unless they are sure they can "win" hands down. How about the Wisconsin Legislature who, due to prison overcrowding, comes up with WI Act 28, which by the way, went into effect on 10/1/09. This lovely piece of legislature gives violent felons the opportunity to be released from prison early. How can you expect attitudes to change at the local level when the people we vote into office say it's O.K. to release "these people" early?

On Beloit police seek help in shooting

The problems of Beloit can not be blamed on the police dept. They are just as frustrated about the crime and murders there as the next person. You forget that many of these same officers investigating these crimes live in this city and have children who attend the schools here. The police cannot make witnesses tell them what happened. Just a little something for you "poster" out there to think about, these same witnesses are hiding these murderers, lying for them and cleaning up after them. With odds like that, I am glad I am not a Beloit Police Officer.
