On Storm knocks out power to thousands

Yes, I actually do know the costs of downtime, as I have dealt directly with downtime due to power, gas, television, and phone cable damages. It's what I do :) And what you don't understand is, downtime happens regardless of whether a cable is buried or aerial. You hear about wind, and storm damages all the time because a STORM is newsworthy, but do you hear about the multiple outages that happen DAILY due to underground faults? No you don't, but I do :)

Sigma, do you know the cost difference between a sheathed cable for burial and a non sheathed cable? You are talking about thousands of MILES of over head cable. The above ground cables do not have to have insulators on them until they become buried. The underground cable also goes bad just as much as above ground. People complain about having over head utilities in their yard, they get buried, then they don't want to look at the peds and transformers on their property. Mike F, utilities are rarely trenched anymore, only for certain types of work or short spans (to a new home). The crews directionally bore these cables in the ground and go right under any fences or sheds. The only ground disturbance you will see is where they start, where they finish, and if they had to cross any other existing utilities.

Pay your taxes to keep the pool open, then pay to get in. But we can't keep it open long enough for people who work to pay taxes to get in after work.

I also have to agree with Sigma, seriously, Parks, ok great for the family, should I take my wife there to swing on the swings with me on a night off from the kids? A movie, yea another movie in Janesville, Dog park, sounds like a park, with dogs.. Fun. Rotary gardens, hmmm hey look its another flower, and over there, a bench and another flower. This topic comes up over and over here, Lets get more food joints, because that's all the entertainment we need, more and more and more food. We don't even have something as simple as an arcade. zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

Sounds like a good distraction, rob the bank then leave something laying there to attract the attention of the police and RUN!

On Stoughton Trailers planning to hire 125 workers
Posted on January 29 at 7:15 p.m. ( Suggest removal )
I worked there for half a day... the most disorganized bunch of no talent schmucks.... talking about the organization NOT the workers. They brag about a 4 10 hour day work week, then the first day every employee laughs their head off at that idea, and say, nah get ready for 12 hour days 6-7 days a week...I think their reputation is getting around though... they have a hard time hiring talented workers like the welders and painters. Not my gig glad I left at lunch :)
